Female: So as I speak here right in from labor delivery. I am going to work here with Nadia and I am going to be her birth partner or sample birth partner. It will not be me now in a day and I am just going demonstrate some exercises that we can use in the labor room to help with pain management. So this is a great one, this is assisted birth squat so I am assisting Nadia by letting her put all of her weight on me. First squat opens up the pelvic outlet 10% or 3 millimeters and doing it in this assisted way makes it very comfortable for the laboring woman. Do you feel comfortable?
Female: I feel lovely.
Female: Okay, in this position you can roll up your hips back and forth, side to side, and all of this movement helps to manipulate the public outlet which will assist the baby moving downwards. So I am going to get you to turn around with your hands and knees now and just lie and put your hands up on my legs, and you can even cross your arms and you could lie your head down just to relax. This is very similar to hands and knees but again we are using the ball and you go over back and forth with your arms are on someone’s legs or your hands are down on the floor being in this position can help a woman manage back labor. You add some pelvic rocking moving the pubic bones forward. There we go and release, pubic bone forward and release, pubic bone forward and release, perfect, great job. Did that feel comfortable?
Female: Sitting on the ball during labor is a great relaxing place for a woman to not just have contractions but recover from contractions. They are walking back and forth helps you manipulate the pelvic outlet to bring the baby down or help the baby to descend down into the pelvic outlet during whatever.
