I am Mark Donovan from HomeAddtionPlus.com and today, I am going to talk to you about laser level and how you can use them in your home. A laser level is a great tool to have around the house. Not only is it good for hanging wall decoration such as pictures or paintings but it is also an excellent device for doing experiment of floor tiling, for doing craft ceilings and multitude of other projects around the home. Today, I am going to show you how to use the laser level in some of these applications and we will also talk about the various features and benefits of a laser level. All right, the basic component in a Laser Level Tool Kit includes the laser itself that has ability to rotate the beam either vertically or horizontally. This particular model has the assembly unit that allows us to fix it to rough surface such as framing wall. We also have an adaptor that allows us to mount the laser directly to a smooth surface mount area. Then we have the precision level in unit making mount on any tripods such as a camera tripod to allow you to mount the laser level on and position it in the center of the room. And finally we have safety goggles. Now, this safety goggles do not protect your eyes from the laser beam itself. You never want to stare into the lens of a laser beam. You will hurt your eyes. These lenses are meant for allowing you to better see the laser beam itself in a lit room. They are not meant to protect your eyes from a laser beam so never look directly into the laser beam. You can use a laser level to attach the smooth surface section cap to the wall itself. You basically attach it to the wall by putting on the section side, plug it against the surface, hitting the on-switch sectional form, you leave it in the on position and then you take the laser itself and you mount it. Then you look at the horizontal or vertical level bubbles and center it. Once you have them centered properly, you can turn on your laser beam and you get a nice laser beam going across straight the wall. You can now hang your pictures along the line of this laser beam. Another way to use a laser level is in the application in rough framing. We have an adopter here that allows us to attach laser to a rough wall. In this case, I am going to show it using a bench. I do not know if you can see this but you can basically have four pins that hold in the rough surface of the wood and then the laser will mount to that. So in this case, we put up in some rough surface area, push it in and now, you can attach the laser level to the adaptor. Again, we adjust the level to make sure that the bubbles header is in between the lines on the level. And then once it is centered, we can turn the laser beam on and now we have a straight line to for example attach electrical box outlets or plumbing fixtures etcetera. Another way to use a laser level is to mount it to a precision level in base unit that then is attached to a tripod, which sends it in the center of the room. In this case, we can have the laser beam shining two walls and this is excellent if you are putting a chair rail, molding or only having wallpaper go halfway of the wall or behind the wall. Also, if you are going to hang pictures to walls, you want them at the same height, you can have one laser beam projected on both walls and hang the picture along that line. To mount a laser level to a tripod, you need a precision level based unit, which came with this model. The bottom-half of it has a quarter inch or 5/8 inch adaptor screws that are allow us to screw in the base the tripod. This simply just spins off. You take the top of the precision level and base unit and that simply just attaches to the base unit of the precision level in there. And then, a laser level itself has a couple guide pins for mounting the laser to it. And once it is in place, you can position it along your wall or on your laser beam and there your go. You get your laser beam reflected of multiple walls in this through laser beam set at the center of the room. So, those are the few basic ways that you can use a laser level. They are inexpensive, you can find it at any home improvement store or even at department store. So I highly recommended that if you have another home leveling project going on in your home. Even if it is as simple as hanging wall picture or painting in the wall, take a look at one of this laser levels before you will install them or hang them on the walls.
