Lauren Conrad Interview

She is best known for being herself on The Hills, but now Lauren Conrad has quit the show. We caught up with her in New York City to see how she has been spending her days.

Lauren Conrad Interview Better Audra: She’s best know for being herself on MTV’s hit reality show the Hills and but now Lauren Conrad has quit the show and she’s living like away from the cameras prying eye. We caught up with her in New York to see how she’s been spending her days and it turns out she’s actually been pretty busy. Rhiannon: Spending much of her life in front of the camera now former Hill star Lauren Conrad is taking time behind the scenes. Lauren: It’s been great. It has given me time to branch out and do a lot of stuff that I really wanted to do so. Rhiannon: And one of those things is a new book sweet little lies the second in her trilogy the first one L.A. candy is released back in June and became the number one New York Times Best Seller. Lauren: I think the experience has continued to surprise me. I think that every signing we showed up to you know there was so many people and it was so amazing so I think I don’t know it was just unexpected and great. Rhiannon: The second book continues the story started in L.A. Candy a tale of a group of girls who become reality sensations over night. Lauren: Book number two it picks up right with the first one left off so the main character Jane has kind of escaped photo scandal and gone of to Cabo when the book starts up she’s there and then has to return to Hollywood and deal with the backlash. Rhiannon: So how does Lauren like being an author? Lauren: The thing with writing is that I have lived my life under a very set schedule for 5 years and then with the books it’s kind of up to you so I had a couple of crying phone calls the first time around where I’m like I have to make my deadline so this time I learned my lesson and I was much better about it. Rhiannon: In addition to her novels, Lauren has also been working on a nonfiction style guide as well. Lauren: A very basic guide that goes over everything from you know shopping online to shopping vintage to what shoes to wear with what types of jeans and you know tricks about how to make your clothes fit better and just anything you an imagine. Rhiannon: And her clothing line with Kohl’s launches in March. Lauren: It’s been great they’re such a wonderful company to work with and it’s nice creating a line that’s very accessible and affordable to women. Rhiannon: As for reality tv Lauren says she doesn’t miss it a bit and she hasn’t watch the Hill since here departure but there is one reality show out there she does enjoy. Lauren: Like yeah Jersey Shore is awesome it’s, it’s the only reality show that I watch so it’s fun. Audra: Well the book Sweet Little Lies is in stores now and the 3rd book in the trilogy is going to be released this fall.
