watchmojo.com Phil Jolly: [Samsung Representative] Typically, DLP is something that a lot of consumers often scared about but a lot of consumers are buying them because it is the best valued television out there. You get all the latest technologies. You get DLP, you get High Definition, you get all those inputs, you can hook up your computer to it, you a big screen out of a really cheap price. The issue is that it is not perfectly flat. You cannot necessarily mount it on the wall. So, it is a great value television. Picture quality wise; you are really not losing anything. Then it comes down to a cosmetic issue. But the problem in why some consumers bought them and scared about is because it has moving parts. It has a color wheel that spins really quickly inside it. It also has a bulb that you have to replace every 3000-5000 hours. So, our new technology this year is LED DLP. So, it uses the same principle, all the same chips so it is tried and tested. It has been out for over10 years but instead of having a big bulb that you have to replace, it also takes up a lot of power. Alright, you got three of this chip sets that is one blue, one red and one green. Remove the color wheel, they flash very quickly onto the mirror through a set of lenses and give you the same image. You get better color production. You got a wider color gamma than you do with a regular DLP. You got a longer lifespan. And we also got great new things this year. We are going to have 120Hz DLP that will allow you—you know when you play video games at your big video gamer and you got the two player game with a split screen and it is a first person shooter game? You could see your buddy sneaking up around the corner to shoot you; well, we have removed that. We are going to have glasses that are going to essentially allow you to have a full screen view; two guys sitting on one couch watching at different picture. Chris: So, LED-DLP. Phil Jolly: DLP.
