Male Speaker: the ZR1 is an absolute bargain, when we bring it out later this year. It will be priced at around $100,000. Chris Hanson: Welcome to 2008 North American International Auto show in Detroit where for all the talk of hybrids, biofuels and other green technologies, there is still room for a super hi-tech sports car or two. Female Speaker: We have been looking at this mean versus green situation, starting at last year's Frankfurt show and it's kind of munging here in Detroit. So we have some just pure mean car, I personally really like, in fact they are exciting. Lamborghini Gallardo. Porsche Gt2. This is cool, but now we are starting to see a little merging where we have a little mean green. Chris Hanson: While the latest Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris could all take you close to 200 miles per hour as more mainstream manufacturers like GM and Audi get into the super car game, a green sensibility begins to emerge. Male Speaker: Corvette ZR1 the ultimate Corvette, built entirely of light weight materials, aluminum magnesium, carbon fiber. So despite all of the added width, the larger rears entire the added technology, we have actually managed to take the weight down. I think I am safe when I say it has by far the best fuel economy of any of the European super cars that compete against it. Female Speaker: We think that it's very, very cool that car companies are figuring out ways to make high horse power a little more responsible. One of the most exciting places for the show, the richest technology is General Motors. There are two very high horsepower cars, the Cadillac CTSV which is 550 horsepower, and 550 feet of torque and there is also the new Corvette ZR1 which is their first real super car.
