Learn to Play Orange Sky by Alexi Murdoch on Guitar
Hey guys, it is Aaron again. The next song to do is called Orange Sky by Alexi Murdoch. I never heard of it but it is a good song. Actually, I have heard everything about change on the staying with the easy song. I like this because this is the easiest song, so far. So, pretty cool song --. Hope you like it.
Alright. Standard tuning. There are only four chords throughout the song. And they are like, the easiest that you will learn. You do not need a tab. You will probably learn to read this tab as you go. What I will teach you is the chords. But all he does is he goes like this --
“Well, I had a dream. I stood beneath an orange sky.” This one is at D. Then I use it whenever I am playing. His D will be like. It will go up, down, up, down. That is the ring. This line, go to the next chord which is the G. Up, down, up, down. After the ring, back to D.
Then go to D. Single line. G.
Single line D.
Single line and then “I stood beneath an orange sky. With my brother standing by. With my brother standing by.” That part is like you do a G at the beginning. “I stood beneath an orange sky.”
It is going to ring again then you go back to G before you start “With my brother standing by.”
“With my brother standing by.” D to G. You can look at this and figure out yourself. All you do is up, down, up, down.
Then there is one part where it said -- I think it is where it starts the second verse. It says “I said Brother, you know you know. It’s a long road we’ve been walking on.” At that point like the drums starts to kick in, since you do not have drums, only guitar. Instead of like just going --
-- like that, at the beginning part when it is just that. Things on that line will kind of play kind of soft. But then I guess the other part where you hear the drums start kicking in, I will play, I will strum at that time, I will go --
Just started kind of getting empty, kind of put some play so when you are like -- you start the one way and in the middle of the song, you start, you go to something else and then like the bridge or something, you can go to last chorus before the bridge, you can kind of soften up when you strum, you know --
And when you get the bridge, you can kind of like -- start strumming again. Alright so, you can look at the tabs and see the chords. Pretty much it is D, G, D, G, D, G, D, G, D, D. G, D, G, D, G, D, G, D. It is really easy. You guys will like it.
I will go down the bridge, it says, “But sister you know I’m so weary,” I guess for a Bm, where you bar across the bottom five strings, 2nd fret. Ring finger and pinky go on the 5th fret I am sorry, 4th fret of the A, or D, G and no fingers on the 3rd fret of the B. It will sound something like this.
“But sister,” Bm, “you know” is A. “I’m so weary,” G. Then Bm, “And you know sister,” Bm. “And you know sister.” A, “My hearts been broken.” So, you can look at this. Check out the tabs.
If you have any questions, leave it at the comments. Try -- it is easier for me to get the comments than messages. I am starting to get a lot of messages. So, just leave it as a comment. Remember, it is just at the beginning, up, down, up, down. You play the whole song if you like it like I do. Up, down, up, down. The only way is on the chorus, I am just going, up, down, up, down, up. Up, down, up, down. Up, down, up, down, up. Up, down, up, down. You can add like more flavor to it later on the song. The tabs are here and hope it helps.
See you guys.
