Lexus shows its first supercar, but are we sure this car really comes from Lexus?

Lexus LFA Review Well, you’ll probably not going to believe this but this does came from the same folks who make the Lexus LS. This is Lexus’ first super car. It’s the LFA. It definitely looks like it -- as either a different father or mother from the other cars in the Lexus stable but it’s definitely the same DNA. Why? First of all, the technology under the hood is a dead giveaway. It’s a V10. When this things starts up, its sounds like a Rolex watch who meets an angry tiger. Kind of a nice sound, 552 horsepower, just 354 foot-pounds of torque but when you got 9,000 RPM to play with, I think you’ll do okay on this car. Inside, the technology is a matter of Lexus style meets a very rakish look. And notice what happens with the instrument cluster, you can change modes to put the most important information in front of you like RPM redline when you’re really pushing it or different information when you’re driving more sedately if you ever drive sedately in one of these. Also notice how the central gauge actually physical moves to reveal or hide different parts of the LCD screen. We’ve never seen that enough before. The central stack definitely has a lot of existing Lexus DNA in the interface and lot of the switch gear around it though that controller is definitely going a new direction than we’ve seen before. This vehicle’s going to be coming out in strictly limited production, 500 copies. That’s it. They’ll start delivering around December of 2010 but this is a real running car. There’s one other in the U.S., the white one you’ve seen. Expect this one to change some perception about Lexus sooner than later.
