Mercedes-Benz Design Sculpture Male1: I did this sculptor and we at Mercedes Benz design taking this element to introduce our new design language. It’s an artistic approach to invent a new car and then new philosophy as a sculptor and we at Mercedes Benz believe that we are able of our company, our heritage to bring our design language mark and closer into an art direction. First of all in the front, our new brand face was the new traditional grill. It’s inspired by our very original 300SL gullwing grill. The one which carries the most brand identity and we bring it back. It’s more upright, it’s very proud in the wind and we will see that on more and more Mercedes Benz models in order to strengthen our brand identity. This is our new signature line. It’s this dropping line which comes from out of the front and into the side. You see a very good positive structure, a very nice drum volume and above that you see that line coming out of the main surface and dropping towards the rear end. This is our new signature line from Mercedes Benz. We combined it. In this case, we have different line, we’ve add one here in the rear fender in order to create a good stance and having that combination of the two lines as a main signature for this type of car. In fact that’s some lines inspired from the 30’s Mercedes Benz automobile in order to trade a very classical sportiness and of course a car with a lot of style because that’s our goal. We want to be the company with the most style. Male2: Good, here with this design study, our main goal was to show that Mercedes Benz now wants to portrait design in a very special manner. For us designers the outer shell of a fascinating way of shaping a car enhanced extremely important. Flowing shapes, sharp edges at the right spots and of course here you see the first basics to be recognizable in the future design language of Mercedes Benz. Since we shall be seeing many new products in 2010, it’s clear that in upcoming versions success of elements of this design strategy have to be seen in reality. Hence, it’s clear and you’ll see it at future car shows that Mercedes Benz will once again have convincing design and show that we’re back, we’re on the offensive and our competitors and especially the customers will honor that.
