Michael Kors at NY Fashion Week Spring 2011

Michael Kors recently showed off his new collection at New York fashion week, and Better was there to find out all about it.

Michael Kors at NY Fashion Week Spring 2011 Audra: Michael Kors has a lot to thank his mommy for when he missed the bus apparently. She should throw in a trench coat to drive in the grade school and that is how his fabulous 2011 Spring Collection was born. The new look is all about easy clothes that you would wear at the house. Lauren talked to Michael at Fashion Week. Michael: So hello, my friend. I thought the show was great. I thought the style was fantastic, the clothing beautiful. Lauren: This is like the most professional show I've ever been to. First of all, they are like hurry up, hurry up, she's ready for you. It’s like eight o’clock. I have like wrinkles on my face from sleeping. Michael: People say they are so organized. I'm like, well, let's be honest I've been doing this a few years, you know. When I think about my first fashion show, I think we have one camera crew and like four photographers. People like snapping from the front row. There was no such thing as a media wall. Lauren: It’s crazy now. What do you think about all these media? Michael: We've seen it live. You know what, I think it’s really kind of interesting and great that fashion, for me, fashion is always been -- since I'm a kid. Fashion was my food, my air, my water. But now fashion is part of my culture, designers or television stars. Lauren: You know what, yes. Boo people like television, so -- everybody wants to be a star. Michael: We’re all hyphenated. Lauren: It's hyphenated if I'm going to get something. So what's the look today for spring 2011? Michael: I have to say, I have never had a show where there was no black in it. Number one, no stiletto, heels, man; we really wanted to playoff of the idea quite honestly. And I've travel a lot. But you know what, what's more divine than staying home? So I really wanted to play with sun tan, green from the garden, pink from all the gorgeous zinnias that I have, purple from all of our hydrangeas. And just a whole easiness, you know, so a lot of it is really based on I think the clothes that you would wear at home, you know sarongs, bathrobes, t-shirts, sweats, all of that put in a very luxurious, very sexy way.
