Natasha Bedingfield - New Album
Bridget: Hey guys, Bridget here for Hollyscoop. We’re talking to Natasha
Bedingfield today all about her brand new album Strip Me and
here is the scoop.
That was an amazing performance and the first song that you sung
was off of the new album right?
Natasha: Actually, there were two songs today. They were of my new
album. One is called Strip Me and the other one hasn’t been
released yet but it’s called Weightless.
Bridget: Oh, fine.
Natasha: Yeah.
Bridget: So, the first one Strip Me is the one that’s featured in the new
movie Morning Glory right?
Natasha: Yes, it’s right at the end of the movie. It’s also been on all the
shots and all the advertising for the movie and yeah, it’s
wonderful. It really is the perfect movie to have that song and
because the movie is so inspiring and so much like about one
person’s quest for that dream against all odds and people saying it
can't be done and they’re pushing her down. She kind of just rises
to the top and kind of brings everyone with her.
Bridget: I feel like you just happened to have really good songs that are
perfect for movies. Is that just a coincidence?
Natasha: I've heard that. That’s the thing had from the movie company and
they feel like my song can lay a nice bed underneath the movie and
I think that’s probably what’s been so many -- my songs have been
to so many movies.
Bridget: Tell me about the album Strip Me. It comes out December 7 right?
Natasha: Yes, December 7 and my album come out and I've been working
on for this whole last year and a half two years. And, after a lot
touring all over the world and this is like just me sitting down
getting into and kind of taking a lot of the stories of people I've
met. These things I feel like a human emotions, human things that
we all relate to. It’s called Strip Me because it’s about just getting
back to what’s real, kind of doing away with all the fluff and the --
everyone’s but gimmicky sometimes in pop music and I feel like I
kind of like I think simple and less fake.
Bridget: We won't be hearing out any auto tune obviously for you?
Natasha: Absolutely no auto tune and you’ll never hear auto tune with me
unless it’s like very intentional.
Bridget: Yeah. Now, are you planning a world tour over seas, U.S, what can
we expect in the next year or so?
Natasha: Yes, I have a tour in the United States that we’re planning at the
moment. We’ll stay out -- I guess it will be in the spring but also,
release of my album world wide in the New Year.
Bridget: You work with Nicki Minaj on here with your album on Friday.
Natasha: Yes.
Bridget: What was that like?
Natasha: It was amazing! I'm such a huge fan. I got this call from and she’s
like, “My album date is actually like coming up -- I've got one
more song. I need something on. Could you sing on it? So, I'm in
Detroit, I book right into Eminem’s studio which I was, “Oh, I love
Eminem so much!” So, I was kind of channeling his vibes and I
sang my stuff of her song and it’s cool. I'm really happy to do
working with because I think she’s going to be the biggest -- I
mean she really is the biggest new artist of this year.
Bridget: Yeah, she was like Glee. Are you a fan?
Natasha: I am a Glee fan, yes.
Bridget: Would you ever want to see your songs on the show or have you
ever been approached?
Natasha: I would love to have my songs on that show. I think that would be
so fantastic and I love have that kind of bringing so many well
known tunes back and doing it in a different way and I really touch
on such really important subjects.
Bridget: Bullying, it’s kind of become a big issue in the country. I kind of
thought like when I saw your music video, it was sending that
message that you can be your own self like what do you think? Do
you think that kind of resonate you?
Natasha: Well, I think that every -- I think that is such an important issue
right now and it’s good that it’s finally being addressed because I
don’t think people have realized how destructive it is.
Hello! I'm Natasha Bedingfield and you're watching Hollyscoop.
I'm telling you one movie that you really, really have to go and see.
It’s called Morning Glory and it’s out now and it’s the best movie
right now. It is fantastic! You might actually hear one of my songs
in it. I'm just giving you a hint.
