Negroni Cocktail Recipe

Jeff Hollinger teaches you how to make a Negroni Cocktail, which is an aperitif cocktail.

This cocktail is called the Negroni. The Negroni is a classic comparative style cocktail. It is a mixture of gin, sweet vermouth, a Compari. And the garnish is something special. We use a flamed orange peel. Sop for the Negroni, I'm going to start out with gin. I'm going to do about two ounces of gin then equal parts Compari and sweet vermouth, about an ounce each there. I'm going to take this. I'm going to shake it. Some people will tell you that a Negroni should always be stirred. I like mine to be as cold as possible, shaking it for a little while just helps to chill it down just a little more. And then take in any of the ice chips out that it will come from shaking the drink and just strain it through a strainer here. Take this orange peel. Hold it in front of a lighter, flame the oils as we squeeze that rather on the outside of the glass, drop it into the drink. The Negroni.
