Neil Patrick Harris 2010 Audra Lowe: Howser are long gone. Now, the Neil Patrick Harris is known as a singer, a dancer even a judge. Rhiannon has more with the star. Rhiannon: He’s got another hit show, is the go to emcee for the Emmy’s and the Tony’s. And he’s even sat at the judge’s table for American Idol. But there is one thing Neil Patrick Harris would do, take over for Simon Cowell. Neil Patrick Harris: Everyone loves him, everyone loves to him. He says hateful things. So anyone that goes into that role has to either say hateful things which then will vilify them. Or if they don’t then they’re going to be compared. Rhiannon: He’s got plenty to keep him busy. Including a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast in which he plays then confidante of a guy under an ugly curse. Neil Patrick Harris: I become sort of a tutor that helps him learn things, life lessons as well as school lessons and since I’m blind that further figures I can’t see his deformities. But in actually, I have my own issues that are similar to his. Rhiannon: And he’s bringing beloved children’s’ characters to life in 3D. Neil Patrick Harris: I think thanks to Avatar, a lot of 3D that’s happening now is just more that you’re in the world itself. And think Smurf has land themselves to 3D pretty cool. Rhiannon: So how’s this juggling acting going? Neil Patrick Harris: It’s tricky being this busy because I’ve been very fortunate in being able to have a little dabbles known —here and there. I do like a little Harold and Kumar here and it was like, that was great and then I do just a little, maybe a little Sesame Street episode. But now, it’s like there’s a lot. Rhiannon: And even more on the way. Neil Patrick Harris: I’ve been doing it for almost 24 years acting. And it’s great fun but I’m kind of angling either into directing where you actually involved in the entire process as supposed to waiting in a trailer until someone bangs on the door and hope that you memorize things.
