New Year's Eve Party Tips

The WCFoodies share easy, organic recipes for every kind of New Year's party & make food predictions for 2010.

[Music Playing] Max: 2009 has been a great year for food and foodies. Rebecca: And whether you are going to a party or hosting whatever of your own, we have a couple of ideas for some dishes you can make. If you have any sit down dinner, check out our Belgian Mussels Recipe. It's simple and elegant, easy to make and very affordable, plus the mussels is going to really well with champagne. Max: If you are having a cocktail party, try the Tortilla Espanola we made. Just cut up in individual servings and put it on fire. Rebecca: You can also add some extra a little cheese, maybe a little Watercress Salad, you want something to make it a little more elegant, anything you can think of to make it a little fancier for your party. For more try adopting our compote recipe from our Eggless breakfast episode. Try out different fruits, maybe some pear or some apple and cardamom. It makes a great jam to go along side of cheese splatter. Max: And no matter what kind of party you re attending, the Beeramisu makes a great festive dessert. It's simple, it's delicious and it's got a little bit of alcohol in it. Rebecca: And if you try a champagne and misu, we love to know if it worked. Max: Champagne and misu. Rebecca: It can work. Max: I see greatness. Rebecca: I see a hangover. Max: Wow that means there is greatness. New Year is not only a time to look back, it's a great time to look ahead. And we have got a list of things we like to see in the food world for 2010. Rebecca: Bacon is being on everybody's radar for few years now, the next breakfast food I would like to see play a bigger role and is pancakes and waffles. Max: And I really want to see a well done deep dish style pizza. Come on chefs, don't let me down. Rebecca: Personally I love a good brand name, but I wouldn't mind seeing the classic Mexican Torta, take over is a sandwich of 2010. But most importantly, what we would like most for 2010 is to see more local seasonal produce and meats on menus all across the country. So dear little brother, what's your new year's resolution?
