Nicole Sullivan Interview

She lost 35 pounds in 16 weeks, all while working hard and keeping close with the family. Nicole Sullivan sat down with Audra to talk about her career and eating her way to a fit body.

Nicole Sullivan Interview Better Audra: First she’s a talented actress, comedian and mother of two and to top it all off she’s almost 40 and looking fabulous. Nicole Sullivan is the new spokesperson for Jenny Craig. She stopped by Better to talk about not only her weight loss journey but also her TV success story. She’s a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and she’s in our studio to talk about her weight loss journey and her TV success as well and how you do it all and just think you know did he go in through things that every other woman out there is going through right? Nicole: Listen you know once you’ve had kids you get you’re like oh my dear Lord. Try lose this weight, it’s just— I mean I read all the magazines and I thought it was not going to be a problem. Look at all these ladies they do it so quickly and it was a problem and after my first son I just it tortured me. I spend a year and a half not being able to do it trying every diet and cleanses and fast. Audra: So let’s talk about that then, how much weight did you gain with your first child? Nicole: I gained 42 pounds with each kid. You know when I started off at 133 with each kid and I got 175 and I just couldn’t get past 150. I just couldn’t get below it and I would do fasts and get down and then the week comes right back because it’s not healthy and I was cabby. Audra: Not good. Nicole: Not good, not a good mom. Audra: And I read that your husband also gained some sympathy when two weeks. My husband is in exact opposite he looks fantastic. He’s losing weight. Yeah it’s great but he joined Jenny Craig with you. Nicole: Yeah. Audra: That’s what you did right? Nicole: Yeah. Audra: Did you have to push him to do it or did he do it on his own? Nicole: I don’t think I really gave him an option I was like you know what I’m not going to be cooking. Mama’s going to take a little break from cooking and we’re going enjoy ourselves from Jenny cuisine and he loves it that the food is delicious so he’s on board and so he gobbles it up and then we eat together as a family again. Audra: That’s great. Nicole: And I’m eating again like I was starving the first time around after this kid and I lost 35 pounds in 4 months. Audra: 35 pounds in 4 months. I was just going to ask how much— so that’s a really important point. You’re not trying to starve yourself. Nicole: No. Audra: You had a baby. Nicole: Yes. Audra: So you really want to do this hopefully. Nicole: Right. Audra: You wanted to keep your sanity intact as well. Nicole: One to tow pounds a week they’re saying that’s basically exactly how I did it. Everything my consultants said to me was right she was like this time it’s going to go and consultants walked you through it and that’s the easiest plan to follow in the world. I swear to God I didn’t have to think twice. Audra: That’s great. Nicole: And it just came off. Audra: You look fantastic. Nicole: Thank you. Audra: You really, really do and your youngest is 6 months old right so congratulations to you on that. Nicole: Thank you. Audra: Let’s talk about your career to Mad TV. Any time you think Mad TV we think Nicole. Nicole: Oh. Audra: You were on the show since the early 90’s. Nicole: Yes. Audra: And I’ve heard that before you started the show you worked at a chocolate factory, waitress or something like that. Nicole: Yeah I was an employee of nestle who actually owns Jenny Craig so it has all some closer but I was working for Nestle selling chocolates and swinging Pizzas by night. I put on a couple of pounds but those years. Audra: It was all good though. King of Queens you’ve got some great roles, great productions. Work with great people too. How does it feel behind the scenes when the cameras aren’t rolling do you guys automatically as far as comedians are concerned just kind of band together and make everyone laugh in your downtime how does that work? Nicole: You know why because to me it’s crazy. Don’t let them trick you into thinking along people. We’re all nuts. I mean we had a great time. I met my husband on the set of Can Clean. Audra: Did you. Nicole: So I particularly find this for backstage there. Audra: Okay and how long have you guys been married? Nicole: I’ve been married 4 years. Audra: For 4 years congratulations! Nicole: Thank you very much. Audra: So what does he think about all this stuff going on with the two kids, the marriage, your career. Nicole: He’s just something, I told him to check out people.com and he said taxi like wowsers because I was in a bikini and he wasn’t there for the shoot. Audra: Really. Nicole: And he was just like he has never seen me look like this you know and I got a trainer the last for weeks Christopher Lance Ross and we’ve been working it out and getting toned and getting it all tight and my husband’s a fan. Audra: Plus this chick is really good at poker. Celebrity poker showdown the first edition you won $100,000.00 donated the money to your charity where you a poker player before that because everybody is still asking how did she do this? Nicole: You know I played poker in like my friendly games for years but I had never played in a tournament style until that day and I just you know when the cards are going away they’re going away and I just, I lied and cheated and did everything I could. Audra: It worked. Nicole: Whatever poker players do I did that. Audra: I need you with me the next time I play the lottery though just stay close we’re going to get each others info. Nicole: Yeah.
