Nissan Plans Major Recall Nissan plans to recall close to 135,000 Infiniti G35 Sedans and Coupes. The auto company says it needs to fix the car’s airbags. An electronic glitz may prevent the airbags from working in a car crash. The recall involves G35 Coupes from the 2005 to 2007 model years and G35 Sedans from 2005 and 2006. Home buyers rush to sign contracts in March to qualify for Federal tax credits. The National Association of Realtor says pending home sales rose 21% in March compared to the same month last year. The jump was more than expected. Manufacturing continues to drive the economic recovery. The government said factory orders rose 1.3% in March, the biggest gain in 9 years. The increase was unexpected. Even so the stock market moves sharply lower. Investors are worried about the debt crisis in Europe and that spark a triple digit sell off on Wall Street. The DOW dropped 225 points to below 11,000 and the NASDAQ gave up nearly 75 points. Wal-Mart stock was one of the few winners after the company agreed to pay $27 million to settle a major environmental lawsuit. The world’s biggest retailer is accused of dumping hazardous waste of stores throughout California. The settlement follows a 5- year investigation.
