I'm Shannon with babyessentials.com here today to talk to you about nursing mom essentials, some products that would be great for you to have if you're considering nursing to be ready for baby. There are a lot of great products out there and some of them you may not have even heard of yet. They just turn out to be essential for you. One of the great things first days home from the hospital, you want to have some linoleum cream whether or not it's this particular kind, it doesn’t matter but this stuff is a amazing for when you first get home those initial days when nursing is a little uncomfortable. This stuff, if you apply it before your baby’s feeding or right after, it doesn’t matter, it's not affecting the baby in any way but this stuff will help you heal and get through those first rough days and then you're on your way to great healthy breastfeeding. Some other great products to have of course would be nursing pads. I'm sure you already know hat this is something you're going to need. You can find several different brands but you want to be stacked up with these because you're going to go through them a lot in the beginning. There is disposable I should mention as well or the reusable kind. So, either way, you can't go wrong but you want to have some in place, maybe even take them to the hospital with you. Nursing mom tee is great. It's actually going to help your breast milk come in as well as kind of keep you healthy, keep your milk flowing and it will help you with the breastfeeding in the beginning which as you probably already know, you're breastfeeding probably 10 to 12 times a day in the first 24-hour period. So, this is going to help you a lot there. Once baby get a little bit older, you're going to want to use these tooth tissues. You know they don’t have any teeth yet necessarily to be brushing. So, this is going to help with the kind of dental health of your baby, even pre-teeth. It's a new, kind of a new product out there but anyone will tell you it's actually really essential to keeping baby’s mouth clean and kind of like wiping down for the breast milk that might sit and pool on the gums and can create a problem. And finally if you're out and about, a lot of moms find this really useful. They can find them in all different products, all different colors and whatever but the bottom line is if you're at all uncomfortable nursing in public or you're just kind of getting comfortable with the process, it might be nice to have a little something to throw over you. And a nursing cover is made specifically for this purpose. So the blanket is not falling off when you're at the mall on the bench.
