Transcript
Oscar Nominee George Clooney He’s an Oscar winning actor in one of Hollywood’s favorite leading men. With every year George Clooney is proving that he’s not getting older he’s just getting better. Born in Lexington Kentucky in 1961 to a television newscaster and a former beauty pageant queen, George had the world of show business coursing through his veins but it was his enthusiasm for sports, not acting that would become his fist love. As a teenager George gravitated towards basketball and baseball. Going so far as the try-out for the Cincinnati Reds, he never made it pass the first round but their loss was our gain. Clooney began his acting career in 1978 as an extra in a TV mini series and continued to land big parts in shows like Roseanne, The Golden Girls, and The Facts of life. But it was his breakout role in 1994 on a medical TV drama E.R. that made him a household name. Soon, the charming actor was receiving numerous scripts and movie offers from major studios. In 1996 he stared alongside Michelle Pfiffer in the romantic comedy “One Fine Day” but it was his anticipated take over as the Dark Knight in Batman and Robin the following year that fueled movie goers. Although the film wasn’t the success that promised to be George received praise for his portrayal. He finished up the 90’s with a string of a cling work and departed E.R. after more than 100 episodes. The new Millennium brought George behind the camera and in 2006 he won his first Oscar as best supporting actor for his role in Syriana. Two years later he was nominated again this time as a lead actor in Michael Clayton, he wouldn’t win but the award was never out of sight. The chance came again in 2010 as he received another Academy Award nomination this time for his work as lead actor in “Up in the Air.” George Clooney Never get behind old people to bodies that littered with hidden metal and they never seem to appreciate how little time they have left, bingo. Asians they pack light travel efficiently and they got a thing for slip on shoes, you have to love them. Female: That’s racist. George Clooney: I’m like my mother a stereotype. Its still “Up in the Air” whether the silver fox will take home his second statue but there are a few things we know for sure. Critical acclaim will record George Clooney for years to come and this good old boy from Kentucky who dreamed of making it in Hollywood is without a doubt one of the most beloved actors of all time.
