Other Resolutions You Should Consider

Gary Ryan Blair discusses New Year's resolutions and if there are any resolutions you should consider that you might not be thinking about

Host: Are there any resolutions I should consider that I might not be thinking about? Gary Ryan Blair: See, maybe you’re wondering are there any other resolutions you might want to consider besides for what comes to mind, maybe those Top 10 of losing weight; and yeah, it could be summarized in really just one word, closure and let me explain to you what I mean by that. Everybody in life has what I call unfinished business. We have books that we have started, we haven t finished. We have photos next to a photo album that we have been meaning to put away for years that are still not done. We have boxes that when we moved into our house three-years-ago, that are still unpacked. We have relationships that have ended, but they are still not over. We have degrees with which we had started to work towards and then walked away from. So whole series of different things; there is household projects that people start and the room is 90% of the way done and they just didn’t finish off that ground molding or that painting or anything along those lines. This is what you call unfinished business and when closure comes in, is that you should resolve to have closure in your life. What you want is you want to take and you resolve to take that entire list of unfinished business and you knock it off as fast as you can, going into the New Year. That’s really the smartest way. And for this reason it's already started, it's probably not going to require all that much more energy in order to get it done. You just got to make a decision and set a deadline in order for to take place. But you don’t want to have a ball and chain of a whole list and let 0132--of unfinished projects and relationships and things. Close them up, close the doors, close the windows and free yourself of anything that’s lingering around. Those are great resolutions to set as well.
