Kim Myles: Hey everybody! Today we are talking about passion, passion driving how you design a space. Another way to say it, theme rooms I hate to even say it that way because I feel like theme rooms can go horribly, horribly arrive. And you can end up looking like you’re in the amusement park, perfect example Mark. Mark loves poker, he design a game room where he can play with his buddies, it’s beautifully done and part of why it works is because he use collectables, he use that items that save poker that see gaming and he incorporated them into the design. So that’s the tip, use the things you have and corporate them in the space and do it in and the way you take a small approach and you get a room that’s really, really unique without being choosy. I’ve use the themes and passions on my show repeatedly because I think it’s so important for spaces to reflect the people who are going to be looking in them. Time you had an extra room that you wanted to be an entertainments done because you wanted to be able to invite guest over for movie night but she also wanted to be able to put them up overnight so the same room how to function as a guest house as well. Plus we’re doing stadium setting and we’re taking a launch approach that give me four palettes or people get sit comfortably cushy with pillows and then when it’s time to go in the bed and the party is over hello I have four beds so four people again can sleep come thoroughly. Great way to concur multiple issues and there is a tip, theme rooms can run a risk could be in very one dimensional we all have the friend or neighbor that love Tuscany and then ended up with the space that look so little like the chain Italian restaurant you know what I mean. Here is the thing you want to eat there but what you want to leave there that’s what you need to consider, you need to consider a space that’s functional for you. So it’s your home and it’s also includes your passion and you really want to be able to incorporate the two in a way that’s go this way. Another great example, Gary and Claudia, now Gary and Claudia had a really bare in back patio and basically a cements slab, they really wanted the space where they can entertain all and they can entertain kids but also have a tropical vibe so here what I thought alright. Well I need shade, I wanted to incorporate the traffics and it’s going with large plastic sheets and there are template I cut out this fantastic huge scale palm leaves out of plastic. What is great about them is getting graphic pop and getting color but they’re acting as a shave sell on the spaces well. So we’re concurring the issues while making it really visually placing and that’s what I want you to take from this. I want you to take the idea, now listen your passions your interest and the things that you love in life, there is nothing wrong with incorporating that into your home, into your own personal design. Just do it the way that feels personal to you, that feels high in, the feel smart and doesn’t feel like different part.
