Paula Deen's Snowflake Cookies Well, yo! Happy Holidays! We’re really nearing in on that big day, aren’t we? We’re getting closer and closer, as you see the countdown of our Christmas Cookies. And I’ve got a beautiful cookie that you can get in the kitchen with your children and make. I am getting ready to make an edible paint icing for our sugar cookies. I need two cups of confectioner sugar, a fourth of a cup of iced water, you don’t want the ice to go in there. I am going to need three tablespoons of meringue powder. There we go, and I'm going to whisk this up and all I have to do is add my fourth of the cup of ice water. Now, we’re going to color this using our little food coloring and you can choose the colors that you like. I think I want to use a beautiful pale blue. You want to be careful because it will get all of your hands. So look how pretty that is, a nice blue color. Now, what I’m going to do is I'm going to frost our sugar cookie. Now you can buy a sugar cookie dough or you can make your own and look at these. I’ve got them in beautiful shapes of snowflakes. So let’s go in and make us a blue cookie and I’ve got some beautiful hard candies and some of them look like diamonds. And just let it run down and run off. You know, it just doesn’t matter. And I think I'm going to come in here with all colors using the pink and the gold and some of the diamond color. You know, I think you could probably even hang these from a tree if you did your planning just right, you could make a little hole in your cookies before you bake them all. And then, you could hang them on your tree. Wouldn’t that be beautiful? So if you want to give mommy diamonds this Christmas, kids just plan and get you some of these beautiful pretend-diamonds and make some momma some cookie.
