Playing Piano: How to Play Fur Elise P.2

Learn how to play fur Elise by Beethoven in this second tutorial (part 2) made by Andrew Furmanczyk. (AKA Lypur) I try to make this as easy, fun and detailed as possible. I went as fast as I felt i could go without skipping to much detail.

That is that part. If I was too fast for you, you just have to rewind it and go again because I am running out of battery here so I have to go quickly. So the next part goes like these—the next part I am looking up can you see that? I do not know this is a digital camera so I can’t see. I hope you can see that. So I got my fifth finger on A (Demonstration), my second finger on E (Demonstration) and my thumb on A (Demonstration). So this is middle C here (Demonstration). My thumb is right in E below middle C (Demonstration) and then my second finger goes to E (Demonstration) and my fifth finger goes to the next A (Demonstration). So how you want to play this is you want to up—angle your elbow outwards and you want to kind of roll your hand into it (Demonstration). Let your arm to play the keys instead of your fingers. As you do this you need to do one sweeping motion into the right hand. So the right hand is going to come in with the C (Demonstration) on middle C (Demonstration), your second finger on E (Demonstration), fourth on A (Demonstration) and fifth on B (Demonstration). So it goes like this A, E, A, C, E, A, B (Demonstration). So then like that (Demonstration). The reason I hesitated there is because I hit this top B then you have to go into the next voice, but it is not that hard. So as you hit B (Demonstration) then you are going to hit the lower E down here. So middle C (Demonstration), first E (Demonstration), second E (Demonstration). So as you hit this you are going to do this (Demonstration). So you are going to go E to E (Demonstration) and then you’re going to twist your hand over like this—stick your elbow out and then you are going to hit G sharp (Demonstration) with your third finger. So like these (Demonstration) and that is basically almost it. We are almost done with this section. So (Demonstration)—now as we hit this (Demonstration) then this has to change another sweeping motion (Demonstration) like that. So there are two left hand positions. There is the A (Demonstration), the E (Demonstration), to A (Demonstration) and then the next one is this one (Demonstration). So it is just going back and forth between that (Demonstration). The A, E, A (Demonstration) and then there is E, E, and an E sharp. So as we go up (Demonstration) E, E, G sharp then what we are going to do is we are going to play E (Demonstration), G sharp (Demonstration)—see how these are all uncommon (Demonstration) with E and G sharp (Demonstration). They are following each other. And then there is one last note that is going to stick out it is the C and as you hit the C then you are just go back for the one that you are doing before. I would say A (Demonstration), E, A so it goes like that (Demonstration). Now what you do is you hit the E (Demonstration) once just above middle C and then you are going to go up and do the same thing again (Demonstration). You do it twice actually (Demonstration). Now this is where it gets changes. So on the second time that we do it we do the same old sound of E, E (Demonstration) and then switch over the hand and at the D sharp then as we hit (Demonstration) the B here and instead of going to this whole (Demonstration) we are actually going to change it to—the second time we are going to hit the D (Demonstration) and then go tot C (Demonstration) and then B (Demonstration) and then we’re just going to do the whole A thing again (Demonstration). It is switching between basically E Major (Demonstration) and A minor (Demonstration) over and over again. So here when it is going E major (Demonstration) not it is changing keys (Demonstration) and leading us back to the A minor (Demonstration) and then you can just repeat it again (Demonstration). I know it is not suppose to go that fast by the way. I am not really seriously plying this. The next part—lets see is I have enough battery power. Good, I do. The next part is it’s interesting. When we get to this part again whenever we do the D (Demonstration), C (Demonstration), B (Demonstration) and then (Demonstration) the A thing here we can either choose to go back to the beginning and do that (Demonstration). So we always have that option whenever you do that. And then if we want to make it sound like I’m going to change this song up a little bit then we put our third—hold on. I only actually know this piece by playing it because I really very rarely play this song anymore (Demonstration). Then what I do is I put my second finger on B (Demonstration) and then I am gradually getting louder because it is like a whole new world. Now the left hand has three chords that has (Demonstration). So C (Demonstration), E (Demonstration) and this is on C Major (Demonstration). So as I step up I am going B (Demonstration), C (Demonstration), D (Demonstration). Now when I hit the E I have to hit the C down here (Demonstration). Try to make it sound like lovely and warm and happy that will help a lot.
