It’s Tuesday, January 26, I’m Jeff Bakalar and it’s time to get loaded. As you know tomorrow is the big announcement day for Apple and the internet is literally on fire with rumors. According to sources, Steve Jobs has been quoted as saying the new purported tablet will be the most important thing I’ve ever done. 9to5 Mac is claiming that publishers of magazines and newspapers won’t have content ready until the middle of the year but that the device will be nowhere close to the thousand dollar price tag, it’s been reported online. Finally business 00:47 said Apple may open the iPhone up to all US carriers over the course of the next 18 months. Team Mobile will be first filed by Verizon and Sprint and possibly clear wire. The US Department of Transportation today is set to announce new rules that will prevent truck drivers and bus drivers from sending text messages while they’re driving. Under the new rules which go into effect immediately, they face fines up to $2750. Now the rules might sound a little tough but the DOT says they aren’t strict enough. They’re actually preparing new guidelines for computer use while driving as well. Why is not just a rule right now anyway? Amazon will tell you just how environmentally friendly your products are. The controller is different from the original Wii classic controller because it contains more buttons and looks more like a PlayStation style controller. The new controller be bundled with the game Monster Hunter Try for $60 and it comes in either black or white. You can buy the controller by itself for $20. The historically massive jury word against Jamie Thomas Racid has been lowered dramatically. A federal judge reduced the payments by nearly $2 million. The original word imposed the fee of over 54 grand a song and jury found she was sharing 24 songs online illegally, the new word still hurts though; it’s coming in at $2250 per song. Users of the New Google Nexus phone that are bragging about their speech to text functions to iPhone users, are finding out that the Google transcription won’t record cursed words. While it sounds annoying, Google filters out potentially offensive or inappropriate results because they want to quote, “Avoid situations whereby we might misrecognize a spoken query and return profanity”. While the Palm Pre Plus and the Pixie Plus are available now for purchase on Verizon in the United States, our friends up north in Canada will be able to get the original Palm Pre for free. The catch, you’ll be under contract for three long years as long as you use a plan that cost more than 50 Canadian dollars. The PlayStation 3 has been cranked by the same hacker who unlocks the iPhone. He reportedly crack the PS3 in just five weeks. Up until now the consul has been the last remaining consul to officially get hacked and while GO hot, that’s his handle, remains tight lip about how he manage to do it. There are high hopes that the new X boy will allow N users to install Linux on the gaming machine or possibly even use it as an ultra fast computer. Bing maps is no longer in beta and is fully embracing silver line. And there are also some new features that go along with the unbeta. Using 03:57 Jacks Bing maps is supposed to have new transitions in the tile loading process for panning and zooming.
