PSPgo Hardware Walkthrough Ign.com Video Feature John Koller: (Director of Hardware Marketing, SCEA)-Hi everybody, I’m John Koller from SCEA. I’m the director of hardware marketing and today we’re gong to talk a little bit about PSPgo. It’s our newest handheld which we unveiled at E3. It is the first all digital full game handheld in the market so the PSPgo has a unique connectors and it’s different than maybe what you are used to on the PSP 3,000 and some things that moved around obviously becomes smaller and more portable so what we need to do elicense base best. The Wi-Fi button is here now but I think most importantly the connector which used to be a mini USBA but is now coming all purpose pin port which is right here. This is utilized as kind of an all in one so you would plugin whether you’re going to charge the unit, whether you’re going to use video out cables, you know anything that’s pertaining to an input into the unit would go through this connector port here. You have your power obviously here, but we moved volumes and the display and sound effects up here with the shoulder buttons and the PlayStation home button is here on this initial screen pre-slide so you would obviously move the slide up. You have the analogue stick and then you have your select and start so it’s using very efficient use of the space given this as a much smaller and lighter unit. But if you’re going to play games obviously you slide up as you can see here and you can utilize any of the buttons here for d pad or for in it’s symbols as you would with the PSP 3,000 that currently exist. We navigate with the X and B as you do now with the PSP but the big difference is that, this has 16 gig of Flash memory and that’s pretty substantial, you’ll be able to leave your UMDs at home and be able to take this potential files with you. In addition to that Flash memory there is a memory stick micro slot which will allow you to be able to add further content and then thirdly in addition we have a new application called Media Go. Media Go is a free application that’s available from PlayStation.com and allows you to really utilize your content within a digital locker format. You can store your content on your PC within Media Go. So all 3 of these should encompass enough memory to build that house all of your content, now besides games obviously we have movies through our VDS service which is now native to the PSP and certainly there’s music and there’s photo applications and there’s other things obviously that come with PSP Skype and internet radio and what not that is all part of PSPgo. Now PSPgo is inherently reliant on PlayStation network now so if you’re going to be purchasing any of your games or movies, you would be doing so through the network. You can see here that you would be doing it through this icon here. If you’re not a member of the network you ‘ll be asked to sign out and then we encourage all who purchased the PSPgo to sign up because it’s the best way to get your content on to PSPgo. Now when you do purchase your content you go here to system storage, as you can see I have a whole wide range of content already actually on here, everything from Rock Band to some of the titles that we have coming out GT etcetera. One other thing that I wanted to mention is that it does have Bluetooth support and Bluetooth is going to be very helpful to those who have wireless headsets and other devices that they want to attach to the PSPgo. Ultimately we wanted to create a product that is in line with what people expect in handheld product today and going forward and so the ability to add something like Bluetooth. The ability to add that Flash memory and ability to add all digital content really played into that so that’s PSPgo a much lighter, slimmer more portable model, the ability to take your content with you without the physical goods along for the ride so I hope you guys all enjoy it.
