Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Mike from thesubstream.com chimes in about the latest film in a franchise he's not that big a fan of. But in the end even he isn't immune to Harry Potter's magic.

[Movie Playing] Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which is to say Harry Potter seventh part one is impeccably crafted film, it’s gorgeous to look at and it’s incredibly well shot and form of some pretty good performances and a bunch of really absolutely topnotch special effect working which in the film that I didn’t enjoy much at all. Although I also acknowledge that might dislike for the film maybe due to me just not getting it or being an old fatty daddy or not with the times or something like that. But my problem with the film ultimately is not such with the film making part of the film it’s with the weakness that’s inherent in the source material the who, what, the why, when and where of the way the JK Rowling moves the chess pieces in this segment of her huge multi thousand page story part. And getting him ready for the big ultimate showdown which will happening in Harry Potter at seven part two which will come out next year. The film starts with the bang or the bunch of good witches played by good actors that are neat characters smuggling Harry out of the mangled house where he spent the summer of somewhere where you can go to a wedding and it’s one of the best action set pieces in the whole series. Shortly there after, the three heroes Harry, Ron and Hermione get even more active and they go on this especial, sneaky spy mission where they infiltrate the now fastest ministry of magic so that they can still back the one ring ops the special necklace that makes people said that they have to destroy. And then immediately after they do those to expand exciting things they go camping and attend in the forest for two hours. So they have some emotional scenes where they stand mere by to each other and listen to radio and emote being ultimately sad or happy or full of angry or full of jealousy as they go on there very special Harry Potter version of Frudo’s journey with the one ring into it or accept nothing much actually happens. I mean sure they find a special sword and they breakout of a dungeon and they figure out some clues about some other story and they visit some other witches. But the way that they find the sword is because of glowing blue balls shows up in the middle of the night and tells them where the sword is and the way they figure out the special information about the special secret code story they had to find is Hermione looks in a book that was given to her and says look a symbol and then looks on the ground right next to where she standing and see the symbol on the grade stone. This is not sure at home that takes that and even when they skip out to the dungeon they do so not through any agency, not through them actually formulating a plan and saying well I’m Harry Potter and your Hermione if we do this and then do that we can— no it doesn’t happen that way they skip because the character completely unrelated to the film at all to this point shows up literary out of nowhere a propel of nothing to rescued them in the time. This is all very meager stuff; it hints it being this big heroic epic journey except it’s all slightly moronic. Harry has this grand destiny but it doesn’t actually do anything to go fulfill it to keep happening to him while stands there and looking like and idiot. They’re just people; they’re special because they said that they’re special in everything end of the clue and everything that they need to do is just handling to them by the story, by the author. This is not great story telling, it is however pretty good film making I think that this film is just about the best film that you could make in the circumstances, that circumstances is being that people are demanding and extremely faithful adaptation of the first chunk of the kind of slightly boring and poorly story told story book. And people will love it. there are people that love the Harry Potter films and stories and accept them regardless of all of there floss and we will like this one because this one because this one is one of the better one so it just happen to be a film that I particularly didn’t enjoy while at the same time recognizing that is well active, well shot and very competently put together so you can either enjoy it even though I don’t think it’s a great film and anybody that likes Harry Potter will think that it’s amazing because it is the best that could be done with what I think is some pretty force sort of here. Which is I read it a generous.
