Entry from: Rurrenabaque, Bolivia Entry Title: "Rurrenabaque and the Amazon Basin" Entry: "So after some sightseeing in and around La Paz we packed up once more and this time heading to the Rurrenabaque in the smallest plane we've ever been on. It was quite a scary but very beautiful flight as we always seemed very close to the mountains. Great for the views but not so great for the headlines that were swimming around my head. Fortunately we landed safe and sound on the grass airstrip at the tiniest airport we've ever experienced. It was just a shed in a field really. Once in town we booked into a hotel and then set about trying to find tours into the nearby Pampas (grasslands / wetlands) and into the Rainforest. There were far too many to choose from and for our first tour of the Pampas we went with one in the budget bracket but that had a good reputation. Afterwards we wished we'd shelled out the extra cash as although we enjoyed the tour and saw loads of wildlife the guide wasn't really experienced and was much more interested in wooing the female guests. 'Kidnapping' one of the female tourists in order to seduce her probably wasn't the best display of professionalism that I've ever seen (long story).
