Sanyo SCP-2700 - Review Welcome to the Phone Arena’s Review of the Sanyo 2700. The 2700 is a basic candybar messaging phone from Sprint. At $29.99 it sits at the low end of their product lineup and the device reflex this. There are no real special features beyond the Qwerty keyboard for the 2700. It does have a 1.3 megapixel camera in the back but with no memory card slot and limited internal memory. It can only hold 24 images in maximum resolution. There is no video camera and again, since there’s no memory card expansion there’s no media player. The design of the phone is good however. It seems very comfortably in the hand. Text messaging is better than expected. The keypad does feel a little bit cheap but at the same time we were quickly tapping out messages. The keyboard layout is good. It’s a touch cramp but at the same time it’s a matter of size versus functionality. We had a real issues typing with it. The menu system is similar to what we saw on the LG Rumor 2. It’s got the 12 icons similar to the Sprint 3G phones. However, it doesn’t have the one click interface that we see with those 3G phones. Still, it’s easy to navigate, looks good in the eyes and is one of the better systems out there. Call quality and performance was pretty good with the 2700. The battery life is rated at a solid four plus hours. And overall, we had no issues with the phone being a phone. It’s just a very basic phone targeted to those who are probably on their parent’s plans. But on the whole for the price the 2700 is a solid by. For anybody looking for some features though we’d recommend a phone like the Samsung Red or the LG Lotus add just $20.00 more.
