Audra: Alright here’s a question for you what does the music business have in
common with track and field. If you’re Sarah Buxton it’s the hurdles but
the singer songwriters proving that she’s in it for the long run no matter
what the obstacles.
After agonizing wait in the wing Sarah Buxton’s made it center stage.
Sarah: I’ve been waiting for this for so long it’s finally happening and I feel like
it’s the perfect the way it is now.
Audra: The release of Buxton’s debut album was delayed for more than 3 years
but the CD finally came out in February.
Sarah: I believe in fate and I believe that it wasn’t my time.
Audra: Buxton first burst out on the scene back in 2006 where their single
innocence and then came a song she wrote called Stupid Boy.
Keith Urban recorded the tune and turned it into a chart topper.
Urban’s Rendition earned Buxton a nomination for song of the year but
her career as a singer stalled.
Sarah: I was so bitter I mean for like 2 or 3 years I was just like forget this I hate
this like I decided no this is wasn’t going to be like being an artist.
Audra: Buxton was nominated for best new artist in both 2008 and 2009 but
without an album which should have been the best of times but like the
worst.
Sarah: I’ve been through so much but I think when you really allow yourself to
hit round bottom bounce back up man you’re going up.
Audra: No Buxton’s upbeat as her latest single the song has her back on the charts
and she’s been opening for Martina McBride and Trace Adkins.
Sarah: I think I really did hit rock bottom and I feel like, I feel just so happy, I
feel like everything that happened to me now is a blessing because it’s
something that I wouldn’t have had if I would have given up.
Audra: but Buxton’s luck isn’t the only thing that recently changed so have her
lucks could it be that she’s trying to stand apart from all the other blondes
in country music?
Sarah: Honestly what happened was my hair is breaking and I really wanted to
grow it really long but if I kept like highlighting it and bleaching it then it
was going to keep falling off and that’s the real answer but I kind of like it
and so I don’t know if I’m going to want to go back.
I don’t think that if you’re pretty and you have blonde hair you can be a
star. There has to be something else.
Audra: Buxton says she’ll let the audience decide whether she’s worthy of star
status but right now she’s just glad people singing along with her.
Sarah: I feel like we share it like a secret together it’s like I can see the mouthing
the words and I’m like I am so having fun. I’m on the ride and I’m loving
it.
Audra: Well Buxton will soon be joining the country throw down Tour with
headliners Montgomery Jetry and she’s also been named artist of the
month on the TV station Great American Country.

Sarah Palin is among a handful of Republicans (along with Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and Bobby Jindal) who keep getting listed among those likely to be a candidate for President in 2012. To those of us who thought she was an absolute disaster as John McCain's VP candidate in 2008 this is hard to come to grips with. Why on earth would anyone think she is capable of being President when she showed clearly during the 2008 election that she is not even capable of giving intelligible answers to simple questions?...
