Screen Protector Product Review Tiffany Young: Hi, there and welcome to Neo-Fight.tv, the technology reviews with two points of view. My name is Tiffany Young. Ben Freedman: And I’m Ben Freedman and today is Thursday, August 31 and today we’re actually looking at a couple of different screen protector products. The first one we’re going to look at today is the invisible, what’s that called the invisible shield iPod protector. And I have it here applied to this 30 GB iPod and I’m not sure what I really love about this. First of all, it doesn’t just protect the screen; this one covers the entire iPod, front and back, but usually that the backs of these iPods can get a lot of scratches on them as well. Tiffany Young: Do they ever? Ben Freedman: Your iPod is completely scratched. Tiffany Young: Mine is a disaster, I’m embarrassed to even look at it. Ben Freedman: Right. I have this on since pretty much since day one, I don’t know if you can see it. I know it’s probably pretty hard to look at. Tiffany Young: The ting is like invisible, I mean you can’t even talk it’s on there. Ben Freedman: It’s even on the back here and again it covers it all the way out over the ellipse here and the edges of the product. I don’t know if you can see the line but it’s really is invisible take a look at that. Would you’ve even guess that I have on there? Tiffany Young: No, no I really – I had no idea that there is anything on there. It really, truly is invisible. Ben Freedman: Not some of the cheapest screen $24.00 for this but it covers the whole thing. Tiffany Young: But when you get ready to upgrade or maybe sell it on eBay or whatever give it to some, I mean whatever you’re going to do with that you’re essentially protecting your investment by not getting you know not scratching it. For it’s over $24.00 you’re really you know doing yourself justice. Ben Freedman: Two problems with the invisible shield that I have, first of all it was tricky to apply. Tiffany Young: That was my first question is how hard is that to get it on there. Ben Freedman: Well the front was easy, you wet it down, you lay it on top of this not a problem. Tiffany Young: You wet it down with what? Ben Freedman: Well actually, let me show you, I dropped it here. It comes with this little application solution. Tiffany Young: Is it like glue or something? Ben Freedman: No, it’s like soapy water. Tiffany Young: Okay. Ben Freedman: The thing is sticky itself so this is just to keep it wet so it’s easy to reposition. And it also comes with this little squidgy thing to help you get the air bubbles out. Tiffany Young: Cool. Ben Freedman: But that wasn’t the hard part because on the front it was fine, it was a little difficult on the edges because the wouldn’t stay down and I have to like sit here to hold it for a couple of minutes while I dry that a bit and then it would pop and— Tiffany Young: You did a good job. Ben Freedman: Thank you but it took me—the front took me five minutes, the back took me an hour. Tiffany Young: You know what but is so—I mean I know you can’t see like what I can see right here but it is such a fine little you know you just really can’t tell. I mean that’s a pretty cool product especially on the back. Ben Freedman: Now I was also—I like this so much I wanted to look for something for my laptop computers and invisible shield, this guys do not make a—they didn’t make product for the laptop. Tiffany Young: Okay so that’s nushield, right. Ben Freedman: But there’s a—that’s nushield and they make this product here they actually sent me this one here and this still has this backing on it. This is a screen protector for your laptop. Now a lot of people say why your laptops closed all the time, why do you really need this and that’s true. I use my laptop in the field a lot, for shooting video, what have you, and there’s a lot of times well you know fingers get on it. By the way, do your kids ever play with your laptop? Tiffany Young: He doesn’t play with it, he bangs on it with toys and he’ll smash food— Ben Freedman: So if you have kids around the house and you have your laptop. Tiffany Young: I have to keep my laptop put away. Ben Freedman: this is a fantastic investment, $15.00 it goes on here on the laptop and the one thing about it is what I’m going to I’m not going to mount it. I don’t have time to mount it properly right here but I’m going to take of this backing and what’s interesting about this is it’s not a sticky product, feel that. So it’s not really sticky. Tiffany Young: You know that’s something. Ben Freedman: Yeah it kind of sticks on with like I guess static— Tiffany Young: Just like electricity? Ben Freedman: Yeah if you put it in here and you stick it in there, it will go on there. One thing to notice is it does— Tiffany Young: It’s now a glossy screen. Ben Freedman: It does have some gloss to it. I’m not going to put the whole thing on here. But it does has some gloss to it and it will your screen shinier than it currently is so— Tiffany Young: You’ll see yourself in the screen it’s a reflection. Ben Freedman: Yeah you can use it as a mirror. Tiffany Young: Yeah it’s a reflection. Ben Freedman: But at the same time you know it’s very scratch resistant so if you’re looking for a way that really protect the laptop screen, that’s a pretty good way to do it. Tiffany Young: So this is for people who are a lot harder on their laptops than say the average user. Ben Freedman: Yeah or the average user with kids like I said my kids - Tiffany Young: I need to protect my entire—I need a lock. I need like a combinations lock on my laptop. Ben Freedman: My kids they’re in to the fairy godmother trip thing and they carry these wands around all day. And they see something on the screen and they smack it with the wand and they’ll like smack at you with a wand? So that is the issue. Okay so the other issue, I need to go back to other product, I also forgot the only other issue that I had with this and I don’t have it so much on this one because it’s black. But I have this on my white Nano, iPod Nano as well, I find it wherever there are seams, dirt gets under the edge. And it’s very hard to get that dirt out. So you want to be really careful you don’t get too much dirt. I’ve actually been pretty good with this one but my Nano, my white Nano seems so attracted right around the click wheel here and right around the seams it gives a little dirt on them. But I have to tell you - Tiffany Young: It’s still very well worth it I think. Ben Freedman: Yeah this is the first I think I would buy to put on an iPod. Tiffany Young: I agree. Ben Freedman: And I really like these, even though they’re but glossy I really like the protection, if you’ve got kids at home that play with your laptop of if your laptops in any sort of an environment where it might get damaged— Tiffany Young: Construction especially. Ben Freedman: Yeah hey how those the new Apple MacBook, they got them for the MacBook as well. And so if you’re—you make a good point about the resell. You know if you put it on the eBay ad that it always had a screen protector on. Tiffany Young: Exactly, I mean I—people want even though they wanted discount price but they want a new product, I mean that’s really a bottom line you know. Less value for your money and going to resell it and you’re really in good shape because are you doing this either peeling off the protector that was on it or— Ben Freedman: Or just tell them that it’s on there. Tiffany Young: Yeah tell them it’s on there they can peel it off and you know you’re basically getting a brand new iPod, no scratches and you know reset back to manufactory, manufactures specifications and you’re good to go. Ben Freedman: So that’s the invisible shield for the iPod, new shield laptop screen protector, couple of great little products. Tiffany Young: I agree absolutely.
