Tiffany Young: Hi there, welcome to Neo-Fight.TV, the technology show for the not so geeky. My name is Tiffany Young. Ben Freedman: And I’m Ben Freedman and it’s another bag-a-palooza today. Tiffany Young: Bag-a-palooza Ben Freedman: I’m a bag-a-holic. It’s been the last since we’ve had some good bags. Tiffany Young: It’s a bag-o-rama Ben Freedman: It’s a bag-o-rama, yes Tiffany Young: Where we are always in style. Ben Freedman: If I was an impersonator, I’d be the bag-o-nator. Tiffany Young: Gosh! Ben Freedman: Yes. Tiffany Young: Along with the Galvanator. Ben Freedman: If I was Rolti, I’d be the prince of Bagolonia Tiffany Young: Oh, that’s so creative Ben. It sparks that one at the mirror. Ben Freedman: Yes, all day. So remember Slappa? Tiffany Young: I do. I love Slappa. Ben Freedman: You do love Slappa. Tiffany Young: Slappa has the hand print, the nice. Ben Freedman: They do. Well, Slappa has sent me a bunch of their new bags and let me tell you the last time we did some bags, it wasn’t Slappa, it was some other brand but they were kind of girly. Oh I got a lot of trouble in the internet on that on YouTube. Tiffany Young: Which one? Why? Ben Freedman: We have that bag episode with the guys’ bags and the girls’ bags and they went that I was really sexist. Tiffany Young: Oh really? Ben Freedman: Yeah! Tiffany Young: Well, you’re just more of a guy’s guy. Ben Freedman: But anyways, I got to tell you anyone out there who thought I was a sexist which is homos. That’s really the problem. Tiffany Young: Oh God! You knew you’re still going to get some e-mail about that. I am like love is love. Love is love and I don’t care how you get it. Love is love. Ben Freedman: Well, I love my hamster. Tiffany Young: I’m telling you, love is love. Ben Freedman: Love apparently is love. Tiffany Young: You’ve got enough of it. Get it where you can. Ben Freedman: Good song called “Love is Love” by Boy George of Culture Club. Tiffany Young: That’s right. That’s right. Ben Freedman: Yes in the 1984 movie “Electric Dreams”, I believe it was. Tiffany Young: Okay. All right, so what about the products? Ben Freedman: Oh yeah! So, no more girly bags here, check out, not a bad boy. Tiffany Young: That’s a Slappa bag. Ben Freedman: This is the ballistics Aura bag and you can tell it’s Slappa because of the custom Slappa handprint. Tiffany Young: Remember the episode we did a while back. Ben Freedman: Give me a five. Tiffany Young: Yeah. Ben Freedman: There we go. Tiffany Young: It goes with the puffy suit. Ben Freedman: Because of the puffy suite. So take a look here, really nice hardware on here. Tiffany Young: Now do you think it’s a little too retro looking that was like one of— Ben Freedman: I think retro is kind of in. Check out. Tiffany Young: I guess it totally matches your shirt. Look at that. Ben Freedman: This shirt? Tiffany Young: Yeah. It’s got the same exact colors. Ben Freedman: Oh my gosh! Tiffany Young: Oh my gosh! Ben Freedman: But if you want room you’ve so much room inside. Tiffany Young: That was so unplanned. Ben Freedman: You got a big, big laptop space here for nice big 17-inch laptop and then you got a huge space in here for all your other stuff. Tiffany Young: My gosh! I would fill that thing up barely be able to close it and then have to drag it around. Ben Freedman: You fill out you know for a girl, I'm getting into trouble. For a girl you definitely fill your laptop bag. Tiffany Young: Let me just tell you I utilize my— Ben Freedman: You’re the only person I know who takes a color laser further with them everywhere they go. Tiffany Young: Hey, I don’t want to be stuck not being productive. Ben Freedman: Now, let’s say that you don’t want the Aura sign or the Aura kind with the blue and so you want something a little more traditional. Tiffany Young: By the way, wait, one more it wasn’t more quick. We’ve got the detail on back here. I got a nice little zipper here. Ben Freedman: Yeah, you have to pass through a trolley handle. Tiffany Young: Oh! Ben Freedman: That’s one is what we’re talking at the bottom. Tiffany Young: Oh yeah! Ben Freedman: The trolley handle goes there straight. Tiffany Young: Or cram more stuff in there either way. Yeah that’s your trolley bag. Yeah, you’re exactly right. Ben Freedman: All right. Tiffany Young: Was that a snore? Ben Freedman: Maybe. What’s so really nice big pocket on both sides. So you get like the side pocket for your cellphone. Tiffany Young: And another side pocket? Ben Freedman: And another side pocket, okay. Tiffany Young: Okay, all right. Ben Freedman: Okay. Tiffany Young: It’s a nice bag. It’s really nice quality. I say Slappa does a great job with the quality. Ben Freedman: Yeah. Slappa does a great job. It’s $150.00. Tiffany Young: Look at those mirror plate industrial strengths, shoulder class. Ben Freedman: You know you’re supposed to do your research before the show. Okay. We’re going to move on. We’re not going to get through all of our bags. This is number two. Similar sort of bag, look, I haven’t taken this thing. Tiffany Young: Now that’s better. I like that. Ben Freedman: Well, this is the PTAC of the laptop bag as it says very similar style. Tiffany Young: Yeah, you’ve got pass through on the back. Ben Freedman: It has this similar material Slappa. Tiffany Young: Slappa signature. Ben Freedman: It got it very similar inside. Tiffany Young: It’s like Christmas isn’t it? Like with all the wrapping to see what it is. Ben Freedman: These ones got more different pockets on the front. Tiffany Young: Oh I like this. Ben Freedman: Yeah, it stands up. Tiffany Young: Now remember how I said before, I can’t believe how many pockets, it’s ridiculous with all the gadgets I have now, holy molly! Ben Freedman: What? Tiffany Young: And it was like labeling like I do my shoes, take little pictures of the gadgets and put it on the outside where I could find my stuff. It’s nice. I really have gotten into the pocket thing. Ben Freedman: Yeah, great pockets, good business card storage here and again inside, room for a huge 17-inch laptop. Tiffany Young: What’s this? Oh business cards. Ben Freedman: I said business cards slots, yeah for real, change purse or something and again, nice metal hardware Tiffany Young: Look at this, this reminds me of luggage. This is for your underwear when you travel. Ben Freedman: That’s for your underwear? Why does your underwear get there? Tiffany Young: Well I use this for a travel bag because I never had a laptop this big. Ben Freedman: You do have a laptop this big. Oh no you used to with your last laptop. Your new laptop is small. Tiffany Young: That was so big. Oh my gosh! Ben Freedman: Like your old laptop and once again, the custom Slappa. Tiffany Young: Slappa. Ben Freedman: Slap something and that is really cool and it is padded too so when that is running on your hip, this bounces of your hip to stop you from chipping your— Tiffany Young: I think men have a little more trouble with that because we are used to carrying babies on our hips I think. We’re designed to carry this so these bags work really well for us. We got this little thing right here. Do you know what I mean? Ben Freedman: Yeah, just keep going. Sorry. Just want a sleeve and let’s say your laptop isn’t big enough to go in here and you just want to sleeve, this is one of their new key tag sleeves and they also have it in the Aura style as well. Tiffany Young: Oh like that. Oh, look it comes with sugar packets. Ben Freedman: Yeah, sugar packets, all right. So this is a laptop. Tiffany Young: It’s like gulp up Ben Freedman: That’s right. Laptop sleeve and with the similar matching style and you can put the shoulder straps on here too. You can take it off there, put it on here and just use this as a separate bag and attaché. Tiffany Young: Attaché, sugar packets here. Ben Freedman: That’s right. And finally, the sleeves are $39.00. And finally, they also send me this. Now this is a bit on the hard core. Tiffany Young: Oh I like that. Ben Freedman: Now this is a hard case. What’s it called? It’s called the HardBody Pro laptop case. So this is almost like a suitcase. Tiffany Young: It reminds me of where you exchange the big dollar amounts of money. Ben Freedman: That’s right. Go ahead. Unzip that. Take a look inside. Tiffany Young: Oh, I like it. Ben Freedman: You got a deep spot here for laptop. Tiffany Young: Oh perfect. I love by the way their hardware is fantastic. Ben Freedman: Oh huge hardware. Tiffany Young: Yeah. It’s really nice. Ben Freedman: Hey, your laptop goes in here and check out the padding they got for your laptop. Tiffany Young: Oh I love this. This is my favorite one. Ben Freedman: This is your favorite one. Tiffany Young: Yeah. Ben Freedman: Okay. Tiffany Young: Oh it’s so smooth in. Ben Freedman: And it has got the padding here, your laptop goes in here. Tiffany Young: I swear to gosh, we do not work for Slappa. They just make these bags. Ben Freedman: They do make all these bags. Tiffany Young: I mean it sounds like it’s over the top and they make very nice bags. Ben Freedman: So explain the padding here. Tiffany Young: Okay. So this is like velvet, cushy kind of feel. Ben Freedman: Yeah. Well, it was like really thick padding thingies. Tiffany Young: Nice padding right here, definitely right here. And you know what I like about this it is actually pretty lightweight. It looks like to be a lot heavier. They didn’t feel how sturdy this is. Ben Freedman: It’s definitely ultimum protection. I mean if you’re going somewhere on Safari or something, well you need something like this. You could check this bag. Tiffany Young: This is nice too because then you can really use your laptop in this bag. This thing is goes up. Use your entire TV through your airplane for that neighbors like, “Excuse me, you’re on my spot.” Ben Freedman: Yeah. So that is the latest line of bags by Slappa. We obviously quite like it. Tiffany Young: We love it. Now let’s talk about price real quick, range from-to-from. Ben Freedman: Yeah, $150.00 for the big bags and sleeves with $39.00. Well $150.00 is all pricey but they’re high quality. Tiffany Young: The quality though, let’s just talk about for example speakers. You got your boss and you got your other brands that do really, really high quality great sound and you’re not paying for the big name brand. Ben Freedman: So that’s the ballistic Aura and the ballistic PTAC series and HardBody Pro from Slappa. Tiffany Young: Do you think I talk too much? Ben Freedman: And we have another profile coming up right after this. Tiffany Young: There’s a song. You talk too much. I said do you know that song? Ben Freedman: Stay tuned. We’ll be right back. [Commercial] Ben Freedman: And we’re back and in the second product spotlight today we’re looking at this which is the Canon PowerShot G9 digital camera. What is kind of cool about this is this occupies an ever shrinking niche of the digital camera marketplace. Allow me to explain, like you have a choice. Tiffany Young: Just being a very good listener. Ben Freedman: Yes, so digital cameras typically fall into two categories these days. You got your ultra tiny ones that are really small. You can stick them in your pocket. They’re pretty expensive $200.00 to $300.00 usually and they take pictures but they have a really small lens. Then you’ve got your big SLR, the Revos and all that kind of stuff which are great and take beautiful pictures. Tiffany Young: They do. Ben Freedman: But they’re big. Tiffany Young: Sure. Ben Freedman: Bulky and expensive, $500.00, $600.00, $700.00, $800.00 sometimes just for the body. Tiffany Young: Sure. Ben Freedman: This is the middle size and they used to be a lot more in the middle categories. There’s only a few left now but this is probably the best mid size camera. So take a look at that. It is not tiny. It’s kind of bulky and hefty. It’s also not huge. It’s right in the middle. Tiffany Young: Right. It really is. Ben Freedman: Yeah. Tiffany Young: And nice big screen back here. Ben Freedman: So here’s the thing. When they don’t try to shrink stuff so small, you got a lot of features like they’re really great screen back here. Tiffany Young: Yeah, nice screen. Ben Freedman: The controls on the top are really easy to use. You can slide your ISO over here. You can slide your program mode over here. Tiffany Young: What does ISO mean? Ben Freedman: ISO is how sensitive it is the light. You can make it more sensitive to light but that gives you greener pictures. Tiffany Young: Okay. Ben Freedman: Or you can make less sense of light and put up and use a flash. Tiffany Young: I see. Ben Freedman: Okay. Tiffany Young: And the flash goes right here. Ben Freedman: It does but it does have a built-in flash. But that’s true. The small cameras don’t even have a flash socket anymore. So you can’t even put on an external flash. Tiffany Young: This is a combination of professional and everyday. Ben Freedman: Yeah, it’s a half way point. If you don’t like the over tiny ones but you don’t really want to carry on the big ones, this is a great middle of the road size camera. Tiffany Young: Yeah, it really is. Ben Freedman: Yeah. Tiffany Young: And this looks like really fantastic lens Ben Freedman: It’s a great lens, kind of take the picture? Tiffany Young: Sure. Ben Freedman: All right. So I’m going to throw this into portrait mode here and you’re right. It does have a really nice on the background. You’re going to C mode. Now if you could see this here when you go to different scenes here – I’m not forbidden to see that – but there’s different modes you can choose here and you could do completely manual as well. Tiffany Young: And see, it comes up on the screen. Ben Freedman: Yeah. It tells you exactly what you’re looking at. Tiffany Young: That’s really good for people having a hard time seeing these buttons. Ben Freedman: And it’s a big screen too. Also, the other thing I want to show people, I don’t know if you're good to see it here is see the face tracking, can you see that? Tiffany Young: Hello! Ben Freedman: Can you see there? Can you see I’m tracking your face? I’m going try to zoom in and it’s found your face in this tracking. Tiffany Young: Does zoom in to close? Ben Freedman: I have to go I guess Tiffany Young: I hope I have to make something out of that but one way to do here is take a picture of you, very cute. That’s a nice picture. Ben Freedman: And that was the picture with a flash. But if I want to I can turn the flash off here and it’s a pretty sensitive camera. Let me go in here and try to turn the flash off and take while we go flash. Tiffany Young: Okay. Ben Freedman: It’s got built in anti shake really. So this one with no flash, it is kind of quite nice. Tiffany Young: Yeah. Actually it did, they try to tell you the difference between the two. Ben Freedman: Now, let me show you a couple of things I want to show while we got some time is first of all, it has a really great movie mode. So if you want to take movies with that, this will actually take not quite high-def movies but bigger than DVD. Tiffany Young: Really! Really! Ben Freedman: Yeah. Let me turn this off a while Tiffany Young: That’s fantastic. Ben Freedman: So here we are taking movies Tiffany Young: Hi grandma! Hi, mom! Ben Freedman: Yeah. The thing goes with this and it’s only 15 frames per second but the nice thing about it is its kind of high quality. I wonder if I can—say hi to both of us here. It’s kind of high-def sort of kind of. Tiffany Young: How much memory does it have? Ben Freedman: Well, it takes an SD card. I’ve got 4 GB SD of stuff just right here. It’s got a 4 GB SD card inside. So that will take like several hundred pictures. This is probably 12 megapixel camera, 12 megapixel Tiffany Young: Wow! Ben Freedman: Yeah, definitely. Tiffany Young: Now as far as the shutter, it does the low light, mid light. It’s got a lot of the manual kind of settings. Ben Freedman: Complete manual settings, by the way this one is 4 GB card. I can shot 30 minutes of video at these high quality settings so it is quite a bit. Tiffany Young: So would you say that would replace the camcorder then because it’s better than DVD. Ben Freedman: I think it’s going to. It doesn’t zoom while it’s recording so it’s not quite as good as a camcorder. It is still not as good as a camcorder. By the way, one other thing you can do with this— Tiffany Young: You kind of get me like for Disney Land when you’re taking your kids to the beach. Ben Freedman: I think it would be great for that. Yeah, it’s smaller than camcorder. Tiffany Young: That’s really nice. Ben Freedman: You can also unscrew this bezel on the front here and you can get these additional lenses. For instance this is a wide angle lens. Tiffany Young: Now is that pretty expensive lens wise? Ben Freedman: Yes. So this sort of camera is about $400.00 and this lens is about $200.00. Tiffany Young: Okay. Ben Freedman: Okay. Look at the size of that. Tiffany Young: Wow! It was like a giant eyeball. It’s like actually an event. Ben Freedman: I've got a shot on my studio here. Tiffany Young: Professional television camera. Ben Freedman: Yeah. So I took a pretty good picture of the studio. We’ll put this up obviously and on here. And now, here’s the one problem and I don’t know if you notice that when that flash went off, let me go back to that picture, the lens is so big. It creates a shadow on the flash. Tiffany Young: Oh my gosh! Ben Freedman: Do you see that? Tiffany Young: Wow! Ben Freedman: So with this wide angle lens so this is why you need to put a flash on top, right and so you can have those accessories. When you take a picture again without the flash, I’ll turn the flash off here, and now I’ll take that picture, and you won’t have that big shot on there. There you go. Tiffany Young: Wow! So how much zoom can you actually get? I know this is wide angle but does it increase the zoom? Ben Freedman: So you wouldn’t be zooming in if you have the wide angle on so that’s for backing up. Tiffany Young: Okay. Ben Freedman: Once you take it off, you can’t put a bigger zoom lens on as well. It has a pretty good zoom as well like a 6X zoom. Tiffany Young: I mean like smaller too when you’re trying to capture and then you want to see that. So what’s the purpose of having wide angle lens? Like for the scenery Ben Freedman: Yeah, not only the scenery if you want to take pictures of your house and you want to get a big like a lot of your room in. Tiffany Young: Kind of like remember the old panoramic cameras a long time ago? Ben Freedman: Yeah. Or if you want to take a picture of a group of people, you know it’s good to have that wide angle lens. So I got to tell you, I love this medium size medium format of the camera. I give this a five out of five. It takes fantastic pictures and it’s not too heavy. It’s not too big and it’s not too expensive. It’s right in the middle. Tiffany Young: And it’s user friendly. Ben Freedman: It’s very user friendly. It’s got a nice big screen and the like. Tiffany Young: And it has a nice brand name. So pricing is $400.00, how new is this to the market? Ben Freedman: This is brand new. It came out beginning of the year. Tiffany Young: Okay. So do you think we’ll be staying price reductions here at $300.00? Ben Freedman: Yeah maybe. I think that’s a reasonable thing. You think it’s good pricing, huh? Tiffany Young: Just a little bit for you. I mean it does a lot though. But when you came back here for $200.00 for your basic needs, do you think it’s still a little bit high? Ben Freedman: This is true. Tiffany Young: So I would wait for it to come down to about $300.00 and I’d probably pick something like this up. Ben Freedman: Right. Tiffany Young: For sure. Ben Freedman: So you give it a? Tiffany Young: Four out of five. Ben Freedman: Four out of five for Tiffany, five out of five for me. It’s nine out of 10 for the Canon PowerShot G9 mid size digital camera. So if the small ones are too small for your little fingers, and the big ones are too bulky to carry around, check out this camera. It’s a great mid size with all the features of the big ones and a lot of the sveltness of the small ones. That’s all the time we have for today but please go to our website, www.neo-fight.tv. Send us a comment. Drop us a line. Let us know what you thought of the show. Let us know if you like the mid size cameras or you like the big ones, or you like the small ones. Tiffany Young: Exactly. What do you use? Ben Freedman: What do you use? Tiffany Young: What do yo use? Ben Freedman: And just share it with everyone else who watches and we’ll see you next week. Tiffany Young: See you next week. Ben Freedman: And if you have another extra 30 seconds, take a look at this. [Commercial]
