Hi. I’m Bob Schmidt with Home Remodel Workshop. Stain trim, there are a few things that you need to know about installation and about things to do with the holes after you put it up. I’ll show you what you need to know. Let’s get to work. Most people like to stain their molding prior to putting it up. So what I like to do is get a few different colored putties, wood fill to go ahead and mix them together, usually by hand. After your trim is installed, just gently take your finger, fill the hole until it feels fairly full, go ahead and take a soft rag and give it a gentle wipe. And then from a reasonable distance, it should blend in nicely with the colors of the grain, available at most hardware stores are stain markers. They come in many colors. You could probably find some that comes pretty close to your trim. Go ahead and hit the lead edge of the trim prior to installation. Your Miters will probably also need some attention with the putty after installation. Go ahead and handle as appropriate. So there you go. With these few simple techniques, you should come out with a high quality job and look like the stuff grew there. I’m Bob Schmidt with home remodel workshop. If you like this topic, please subscribe.
