Stretch Training

Description

Learn how to increase your agility by stretching right.

Transcript
Agility is the ability for the body to control its own body mass when changing directions. Strength is a key component in being able to do that skill. People think that if we get bigger in a weight room we are going to get slower. It is not necessarily true. Well, we are looking for by getting stronger is the increase on muscle recruitment during muscle contraction. Basically, we want to take a four-cylinder engine out of the body and put it in an eight-cylinder engine. This allows us to move the body’s mass more efficiently, more effectively, and more explosively. Training our energy systems specifically for agility means sometimes that is going to be a quick burst—one to two seconds. Sometimes we need agility for a longer period of time. So we train for agility, sometimes we need short burst of explosion, sometimes we need longer periods of explosion.
