Learn about the 2010 Porsche Cayenne At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche presented a completely redeveloped generation of its sporty SUV, the Cayenne. A world premiere, besides the usual gasoline and diesel engines, the Cayenne is now available for the first time as a hybrid version. The Cayenne S Hybrid is powered by a 333 horsepower, 3-liter V6 supercharged engine assisted by a 47 horsepower electric motor leading to an overall output of 380 horsepower. And still, the car only uses 8.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. For sporty acceleration when taking off, the electric motor gives you an additional boost. Of course, the new generation, the Cayenne S is still available with the 4.8-liter V8. Now delivering 400 horsepower, that’s 15 more than the previous model. Here too, Porsche was able to reduce fuel consumption considerably. The gasoline engine now makes two with only 10.5 liters per 100 kilometers, and compared with the former model, the new vehicle’s 180 kilos lighter. There’s also the Cayenne diesel with its 3-liter V6 and 240 horsepower, which develops 550 Newton meters of torque. As with the other models, there’s a 20 percent reduction in the fuel consumption from 9.3 to 7.4 liters. While there’s outer dimensions have grown, the new generation of Cayenne appears much more compact and more dynamic. Its foreign language is sportier, more dynamic, and right away, you’ll notice it’s unmistakably a Porsche. With this great new design, the Cayenne now looks even more like the rest of the Porsche family. Pricing starts at 46,400 Euros. The top version, the Cayenne turbo will run for about 96,900 Euros. Expect to see the new generation models out in dealerships as of May 2010.
