President Obama is in New Delhi, India pushing to improve ties and open the Indian economy to U.S. products. Chip Reid reports.

Harry: But we begin with president Obama trip abroad, he is in New Delhi the capital of India and the second stop on his 9 day, 4 nation tour of Asia. CBS news chief white house correspondent Chip Reid is traveling with the president and has the very latest.
Chip: The president is spending his final day here in India engaged in some high level diplomacy but it’s also clear he's still pre occupied with last week’s election. And the message voters sent him about focusing on jobs. Escorted by 24 horses and horned with the 21-gun salute, the president was welcome to New Delphi with a lavish ceremony at the presidential palace. Mr. Obama returned the hospitality by praising the deep friendship between the two largest democracies’s in the world.
Obama: I believe that the partnership between the United States and India will be one of the defining partnerships of the 21st century.
Chip: Though half a world away the president’s mind was clearly still on the US elections that paneled democrats of the state of the US economy and a joint press conference straps that his top goal in this visit is opening the surging Indian economy to US products.
Obama: I want to be able to say that American people when they asked me why are you spending your time in India, aren’t they taking our jobs? I want to be able to say hey actually you know what they just created 50 thousand jobs.
Chip: 50 thousand US jobs, the result of more than 20 deals announced by the president this week end between India and US corporations. as the president mad clear in an exclusive interview on Sunday 60 minutes on CBS, the election are already having effect on how the president views big business.
Host: There is a perception out there that you're anti business.
Obama: Well I think that there is no doubt that the relationship with the business community or the course of last 2 years that times had got sprained and so I think that we got some repair work to do there.
Chip: It was an all work in India and a celebration of the national holiday Dewalee, the first lady jumped right in. Her husband had to be dragged on to the dance floor by children. Later today the president heads for Indonesia where he'll continue to push for opening markets to US goods and give a major speech on relations with the Muslim world. It’s also a home coming for the president. He spent four years in Indonesia as a child. Harry.
