Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning go edgy in the Joan Jett and Cherie Currie rock star biopic.

The Runaways' Sneak Peek Host: Kristen Stuart and Dakota Fanning teamed up for the second time in the coming of age biopic chronically in the rise and fall of Joan Jett and Cherie Currie’s 70s rock band. Stuart starts off predictably awkward. Kristen Stuart: I'm Joan Jett. I played guitar—electric guitar. Host: But maybe that’s the point. Male: Joan Jett, that’s a cool name. You guys got a demo? Kristen Stuart: No, no I don't. No, guys I want to start an all girl rock band. Host: What the 19-year-old stars performance may influidity she more than makes up for on stage. Stuart convincingly channels Joan Jett’s edge and strives for authenticity telling co-star she didn't want to fake it, learning how to play the guitar in all 12 pieces in just a few short months. Dakota Fanning in her most provocative role to date plays lead singer Cherie. Cherie: My name is Cherie and my life was ready for a change. Kristen Stuart: And you really look terrible, go. Host: The 16-year-old actress committed to voice lessons and takes the lead as the band’s top dog. Sherrie: People said we were a bad influence. Kristen Stuart: Open up if you feel the environment.
