Transcript
Debbie King: Well I’ve actually tried and invested in this next store because my husband actually started his career with them. And it’s the Three Waiters—Mark, Jay and Anders. It’s a pleasure to meet you fellows. You get your glasses from the same place? Jay: Yes. That’s why Jonathan is not in anymore he didn’t have the beard. Debbie King: And he doesn’t wear glasses. Jay: No. Debbie King: We’ll comeback to Jonathan in a bit, but you're not actually waiters at all are you? Mark: No. Anders: No, definitely not. Mark: Preparing is to reserve. Jay: Basically we relax. We are a little bit of surprise that goes on during any sort of event, but specifically wedding. And what happens is we hoax as waiters so when the bride and the guests arrive we’ll be integrated with all of the staff looking like the staff serving canapés and wine like everybody else. Debbie King: And what’s that like, do people ever come to you and say, “You’re a bit of useless waiter?” or “Can you tell me where the toilet is?” and you’ve got no idea because you don’t—do things like that happen? Mark: We normally know where the toilet is. Jay: You’ve to learn the basics. Where are the toilets and where is the kitchen for the gravy. Debbie King: So then what happens when you start singing? Jay: It starts during the starter. So during the starter there’s a bit of surprise announcement by the head waiter, he mentions a bit about of loss handbag that goes on. And what that does, he does two things. He introduces him as a character to the audience as the headwaiter and also gets the ball rolling in regards to the show. Debbie King: So you’re the headwaiter. Anders: I am one of them yeah. Jay: There are three characters and we all intermingles. Sometimes you play the first, second or third waiter. Debbie King: And it must go down very well. The guest must love it. Jay: It’s crazy! It’s good fun. I mean it’s one of those shows that every time people love the music, they love the humor and you really can’t be wrong with many ways. Debbie King: Is classical music now so popular, it’s being brought to the masses by all these reality shows, and then the guest must absolutely love it, do they at the end still think you are waiter? Jay: Oh yeah. Mark: Constantly. Debbie King: Really? Mark: Yeah, it’s amazing. Debbie King: Any inside information on my husband? Jay: Nothing we can say on camera. Mark: He is always the one engaged to charity. Debbie King: Amazing! I'll be having words when we get home. So we’re going to have a sample.
