Tips for Reducing Bathroom Clutter - as part of the home design series by GeoBeats. One of the tricks I like to use in order to help me stay on top of cleaning my bathroom is, I like to keep a caddy underneath the bathroom cabinet. Just put a few simple items in there such as, glass cleaner, paper towels and wipes. That way while I am in the location I might as well go ahead and do a real quick wipe down of the counter tops and real quick wipe down of the glass. That way I can always stay on top of my and I have a nice clean bathroom to come to all the time. So one of the areas that I see that gets disorganized quite a bit is, women's jewelry. They just like to throw it into some sort of container and when they need to go look for it they have to go through a bunch of different rings and necklaces and they cannot find what they need easily. So what I like to do is I like to use a jewelry organizer that just hangs on my wall. I love this jewelry organizer from Bed Bath & Beyond. For one it allows me to be able to find my jewelry fast and easy. Not only that it actually creates a very attractive wall piece. Makes my jewelry look a lot nicer. One of the areas that I see tends to be disorganized quite a bit in people’s homes is under the bathroom sink. The cabinet tends to be a catchall place where everything just gets thrown in it. When you need to find it, it is hard to be able to access easily and many times people have to go and buy it again because they did not realize they had it because it was disorganized. What I would recommend that you do is to take advantage of the vertical space underneath your bathroom cabinet. How you could do that is by getting organizing containers that stack on top of each other. This way you can divide your items into categories of similar nature. For instance, hair styling tools, hair styling products and your nail polish. So when you go to find your items you can find easily, you can put them away easily and you will save yourself from junking up your bathroom counter top with all these things that you need to access frequently. And it also looks good as well. To prevent having a bunch of products winding up all over your bathroom counter tops, what I recommend that you do is create an overflow area for the bathroom products that you are using but your just not using frequently. Hall closets are great for that. Just get some stacking bins, put them in your closet and the overflow stuff you are not using goes there and the stuff that you use most frequently is in your bathroom area. That way you can find it easily when you need to, put it back easily when you need to and stay away from junking up your counter tops. Believe it or not one of the factors that plays a role in weather or not you are going to be organized is aesthetics. Your spaces have to appeal to you aesthetically in order to keep you motivated to want to keep that area organized. So for instance in your bathroom I would highly recommend you carve out a little space for yourself if you do not have the ability to have a full blown bathroom all to yourself. Carve out a little space within your bathroom and make it visually stimulating for you. Use colorful towels, use hanging jewelry that appeals to you, use flowers in your space. Make the lighting so that when you are looking at yourself in the mirror you actually see something that you like to see. So make sure that you are putting aesthetics in these areas and you will find that you will be more apt to keep that space organized.
