Tori Spelling stops by the Better set to talk about her new children's book and all of her various side projects.

Tori Spelling Talks New Book Audra Lowe: We saw her grow up in the popular zip code 90210 and now we see her married with children in her home sweet Hollywood. Tori Spelling is not only a reality TV star she’s a successful business woman, wonderful mother and a best selling author whose now out with a new Children’s book called Presenting Tallulah. Today she’s here and she’s talking about what it’s really like to walk inside her shoes. Good to have you back Tori. Tori Spelling: Now it would be really hard to walk in because they’re really high. Audra Lowe: Very high shoes right. Tori Spelling: They hurt. Audra Lowe: But they look fabulous. Tori Spelling: Thank you. Audra Lowe: All in the name fashion. Tori Spelling: Thank you. Audra Lowe: Every time that you come here you have a new project and I love the fact that now it’s a children’s book. Tori Spelling: Me too. Audra Lowe: And this one here if you guys can see the cover it’s a very, very cute. I heard that you have something to do with the little design of the dress here. Tori Spelling: Oh yes definitely I actually well we created it. Vanessa Newton is an amazing illustrator. She’s with all the illustrations and I actually from my Little Maven children’s line I recreated this dress and now it’s going to be called the Tallulah dress and it will be out actually in December. Audra Lowe: You got the line obviously so that’s is it HSN? Tori Spelling: I had my jewelry line at HSN. Audra Lowe: My god I’m sorry. I’m kind of coming all straight here. Now lets go back to the book because the book is really about a little girl who really is told that she can’t do this, she can’t do that, don’t get dirty, don’t talk too loudly and looking at the illustrations and the story itself a lot of people are going to wonder is this a story about you? Yes, no? Tori Spelling: She’s loosely based on me. The circumstances are a little bit different. My parents you know in the book she’s told yes exactly she can’t or that just well she can’t really change she has to wear a dress she you know and can’t be like other kids. My parents weren’t like that at all. Audra Lowe: Okay. Tori Spelling: They were great very loose and very strict but I did encounter a lot of it when she goes through at school being told you know you’re the little rich girl so you’re different than us. Audra Lowe: Right. Tori Spelling: And my point in the story is I think all kids can relate to it because it doesn’t matter your financial, your background, where you are from, it’s all about striving to be yourself and being okay that it’s okay to be your own person and yeah you can be accepted. Audra Lowe: And standout in your own. Now what do your kids think about this. Mom’s an author just writing children’s book pretty cool? Tori Spelling: The best moment I have to say ever was reading it to my kids and at the end I told them I wrote it and at the very end Liam gave me a thumbs up and he said good job mama. Audra Lowe: He did? Tori Spelling: He did and I was like—. Audra Lowe: Seal of approval for him your good to go then. Tori Spelling: Right. Audra Lowe: Alright now as far as being raised in the spotlight I know it’s probably pretty tough for you now your kids are on your show and they’re also being raised in the spotlight. Are you doing things differently than how your parents raised you? Tori Spelling: It was a different situation back then. I say that mostly pertaining to the paparazzi kind of the media focus I think has shifted and you know now they follow, before they would follow your kind of on screen persona and movies made the events and stuff when I was growing up at least and now you know they want to have all access to you. Audra Lowe: Yeah. Tori Spelling: You know your personal life which is hard you know they’re sitting outside our house. They’re constantly following us and that’s a hard thing to adapt to and the kids are old enough now that Liam gets annoyed with it. You know he’s turning into a little Shawn Penn she charges them no and you know it’s funny the first few times and I’m like oh my gosh my poor children. Audra Lowe: He’s learned the ropes. You guys are filming your 4th season right now Tori? Tori Spelling: Actually about to start a 6th season. Audra Lowe: 6th season. Tori Spelling: Yeah can you believe it. Audra Lowe: God it’s crazy and you’re okay with all the cameras still being there. You’re fine with all of the things that we see and still opening up even more, right? Tori Spelling: Absolutely I mean there’s a blur from me between business and real life, you know my business is my real life, my real life is my business so but its nice. You know it’s so much better than you know the perceptions that people used to have about who is Tori Spelling. You know now it’s like this is me and this is what I enjoy and put it out there. Audra Lowe: Well congratulations. Tori Spelling: Thank you very much. Audra Lowe: I’m going to hold on to this one because I may be doing that person. Tori Spelling: You’re going to need this book. Audra Lowe: Yes I am thank you for having you here Tori. Tori Spelling: Thank you.
