Understanding Progressive Relaxation in Therapeutic Hypnosis On behalf of tvlesson.com, my name is Robert J. Escandon. I am a clinical hypnotherapist with thebanyanholistic.com. In this clip, I am going to show you how to do a progressive relaxation in therapeutic hypnosis. Many times it works better lying down. Can you please lie down for a second? Then we go ahead and just simply close our eyes and much like before, begin the deep breathing. This time we will begin to focus slowly on the feet and begin to allow the feet to begin to relax using visualizations; allow the muscles to relax, allow the calves to relax and the knees, little by little. As the client continues to breathe in, she continues to gather any stress that she might have collected throughout the day, holding it in within her center, her stomach and releasing it, allowing these extremities to just slowly relax little by little. We continue to bring the progressive relaxation, relaxing her hands, relaxing arms and her elbows as she continues to relax deeper and deeper as she just simply breathes. We continue to move the progressive relaxation focusing in the stomach on the lower back. As she continues to breathe, she just simply allows that area of her body to relax, a little bit more than she did before. Automatically, the legs begin to slowly relax more and more as she continues to focus on different parts of your body. We continue to workup the body, relaxing the chest and the heart, the shoulders, even the neck and pay close attention to the face area, allowing the eyes to relax as she continues to breath, the forehead as it carries a lot of tension throughout the day, even the nose, lips and cheeks. And then ultimately at the end, simply allow your mind to clear and relax. Progressively relaxing your body is the best way to enter a state of calmness and meditation. On behalf of tvlesson.com, this has been Robert J. Escandon. Thank you for watching.
