Wedding Circle Journal

For the bride-to-be, create a memory album using page pockets and tags.

There's a wonderful custom at bridal showers, it’s called a wedding circle journal. A small scrapbook that’s pass on the bride’s family and friends, and its perfect for out of town friends. Each person contributes to a page, some helpful advice maybe or a favorite story about the bride. We thought a wedding circle journal will make a great bridal album. Only we wanted people to be able to write down their thoughts before they got to the shower. The solution was simple, page pockets and tags. Now if you look here, you can see that I've remove one of the pages of the book so that we can really look at it up close. And here you can see a pocket that's created out of vellum and the tags that each of the people who attend the bridal shower actually have a chance to write their thoughts. So to begin with, you want to cut the tags. So over here you can see that you can die cut tags in lots of different shapes and sizes. And this way you can have it coordinate with the colors that you’ve chosen for the pages. Now there are several wonderful things that you can use to embellish the tags. One of the things that we opted for was the label maker, and this we used throughout the album. Just this one consistent element that tie all the pages together. Now if you look back over here at the page, you can see that the vellum has been connected by sewing around the edges. So it’s already been started. These fun fibers, it’s easy to just poke them through. And the vellum which can be sort of a challenge to attach, the fibers are a really great way to get that vellum to stick down. So we just done one area, you would just continue lacing in and out. And that gives you the pocket that remained open so you're going to be able to put the tags inside. Now another fun thing to look at is we started to show up here at the top a really fun technique for adding chalk. And we've use the sticker and let the lay sticker to sit down as a guide. And then I'm going to take a cotton swab and some chalk and I'm going to just go back and add the color right over the lace. And you can add and blend as many colors as you want. You can see here, there were lots of colors were used to create this. And because I know this takes a little bit of time, I really already done this, and what I'm going to do now is pull it back and show you the wonderful pattern that's created when I remove this. You pull that off. You can see how great it is to create this shadow effect by just leaving the sticker down as a guide and chalking over it. And when you look back the finish page, I’ll bring it over here, you can see how wonderfully it creates just a great border for the page. And then inside, once again, you have all the tags with the notes and all the advice. Now at the shower, the bride to be opens her own wedding journal. There she finds advice, memories, laughter, all wrap in circle of love.
