Who What Wear: Best Dresses for Spring/Summer

Hillary Kerr: Welcome to the Who What Wear fashion closet, I am Hillary Kerr. Katherine Power: And I am Katherine Power. Now that all the spring closer in stores, it's times to start figuring out what you want to buy now to wear when the weather warms up. Naturally there are ton of new seasonal trends but today we are going to focus on one item, the dress. Hillary Kerr: We will show you the three dress shapes you should wear this season and give you a few styling recommendations, but first check out a few ladies who know how to dress up. Female Speaker: Our first shape is the one shoulder dress. We saw this style all over the spring runways from lawn to lane. Next up is the super-long maxi dress. This style had a resurgence last spring and is still going strong. The third shape we loved this season is the Hervé Léger body-conscious dress, like this one on Sarah Michelle Gellar. Katherine Power: With those three shapes in mind, let's take a look and find some fantastic dresses. Hillary Kerr: Don't forget to try a belt with your dresses, the right belt can give your dress a totally different look or make it more visually interesting. Katherine Power: Dresses are simple, you just zip up and go but easy shouldn't be boring. So spend a little extra time accessorizing and find some fun, interesting jewelry to add a little dimension to your outfit. A longer one shoulder dress is going to give you more of a Grecian feeling, it's also a bit more mature and definitely dressier. A shorter dress like this one from Jenni Kayne is a little bit more youthful and casual. Hillary Kerr: This dress has a lovely, easy, fit on its own but we also like it nipped in it the waist with a belt. It's just a cool little tweak. Katherine Power: Here we have the maxi dress which is one of my personal favorites. I especially like this style worn during the day because it's a bit more unexpected. Hillary Kerr: This dress is by Bensoni and we styled it with just a simple pair of flat sandals, although you can definitely swap those sandals out for a high heel pair for a night time look. Katherine Power: Finally, we have the perfect antidote to the silhouette and that is the body-conscious dress. Hillary Kerr: This black lace dress by Kova & T is definitely skin tight but it doesn't look trashy because it's balanced by a high neckline. Katherine Power: We know this look might seem a bit intimidating but it's actually more flattering that you would think.
