Gary Vaynerchuk: Hello everybody, this is Gary Vaynerchuk from Winelibrary TV and today I am in the mood to talk about something very interesting to me. It’s very global. What we are going to talk about is wine in general, and its place in society and where I am going with this is very simple. I believe that wine is extremely over blown and taken well too serious. But now don’t get me wrong, my entire career, who I am, how I live, is based on my wine knowledge and how seriously I take wine. However, in a scope of life, I believe that ratings for example in the wine world today have really become way too serious. I think people like Robert Parker and Wine Spectator are dictating too much of the market. And let me give you a little knowledge here. I really want to shoot from the heart here and really get you to grasp wine in our culture. How many people have told you what toppings to put on your pizza or have critique the cheese burger that you have ordered? But ordered the wrong vintage on a bottle of wine and everybody is all over you like white on rice. So what I really want you to get, it’s nothing else in this series of videos and all the videos that I do. It’s a grasp to knowledge and thoughts that wine is a very personal thing, wine is an emotional thing, wine is a family thing. You are going to have wine that taste better at parties that you are having a better time at. Just the way you did. It’s the way it is. And more importantly if you are interested in education yourself about wine don’t take it too serious, don’t take 90 point scores as life or death. Build your own wine library, your own palette, build your own thought process online and be very open-minded. But thing that kills me, bothers me more than anything else are people that are stuck on the same wine over and over, with so many wine coming out every and then changing every year, there are so many things to explore. But please if you do need any favor, try a new wine every time you go and buy one.
